Seriously, if we got figures on par with GoA with their articulation? It would be a DAMN solid kids line. We'll see how this "retro line" shapes up. My core assumption is that we'll be getting some sort of o-ring release given how other retro/reissue lines are being handled (like the G1 reissues or the Kenner retro figures). They COULD be ME figures in Retro packaging..but it feels like it defeats the purpose of a "retro" line. Even if they are the recent ME figures, getting the Ultimate Destro, Snake Eyes (with proper head sculpt) and Storm Shadow would be well received. If they ARE o-ring figures, I'd hope that Hasbro would commit like they did with other vintage remake lines. They REALLY half assed the o-ring usage during the tail end of NuSculpt and as far as I know, ditched all of the old tools a decade ago. So what makes this line REALLY interesting is that it gives Hasbro an opportunity to remake figures like the V1 Destro and V2 Snake Eyes who have not been reissued to death. And in good shape and complete would cost someone a LOT more than $13. Judging from the codenames, it guarantees Destro, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Not sure about the other codenames, but I figure Cobra Commander, Duke, and Roadblock are on the short list alongside Baroness and Scarlett.

While o-rings would be cool I’m not sure if Hasbro will go that route because they will be reproducing toys with a known weakness, which is the o-ring. Replacing the rings is really easy but what may have been acceptable in the 1980s may not be acceptable now.

While the execution may not always hit the mark, Hasbro does seem to be trying to replicate the retro construction as well as possible in it's other retro lines. I'm betting o-ring. I hope if all the old molds are gone, we get 100% faithful reproductions (with built-in ways to tell between new and vintage). If they still have the old molds, I hoe they faithfully replicate the missing vintage parts and we don't get:Forgotten Figures: Rarities - Then and Now Unproduced Figures

Allegedly, Hasbro was taking great care to preserve the o-ring molds they used 2000-2005. I think there were issues with factories and some molds going missing (Falcon, Cobra Infantry, etc). Still, there were many vintage molds that were seen during that time that were 100% complete. So IF Hasbro hasn't recycled the molds since then, they have...
Scarlett (swivel-arm) A "Classified" character Roadblock (84) A "Classified" character Firefly (84) Storm Shadow (84) Baroness Snow Job Zartan (84) Snake-Eyes (swivel-arm) was only missing the waist, which brings me to... Hasbro spent the money to recast the Short Fuse/Zap body in '04 and they still had the Grunt/Hawk/etc torso, so they would be only headscupts away from recreating about half of the '82 line. Hasbro could produce a lot of figures without investing much money at all IF they still had these molds. Though I expect some totally new molds even if they do, since we have not seen V1 Cobra Commander, Destro, or Major Bludd since the vintage line. And a lot of the surviving molds were woefully incomplete to the point they might as well redo them. Dial Tone Roadblock V1 89 Snake Eyes Ninja Force Storm Shadow Undertow 91 Bats Mirage And I think v1 Mutt

I forget where, but there were listings for “6” Core” figures, unless there is two different core lines.

Ive given that a lot of thought as well, and while it wouldn't be unrealistic to assume they'd stick to the same formula, it would be interesting to see if they devise an improvement of some sort. Especially since I've been looking for one for the past 20 years in regards to my own figures... I have to change them more frequently than most due to my climate.
