That was not done for Walmart. That was done when Takara released the minibots in Japan, back in 2004 and 2008. It's the equivalent of the Comic 3 pack line, o-ring figures with updated sculpts.

Actullay, those *could* be the molds being used for this Retro line. It wouldn't be what I personally want and I wouldn't be so surprised, but it would be better than modern stuff. While the Baroness and Destro in that line are not my favorite, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow that came with issue #21 actually are. Those two in Retro cards would be amazing!

I’d be perfectly happy with the 25th retooled vehicles in vintage 80s boxes. Hopefully reusing existing molds would fre up some capitol make more In the future, if the line sells well.

Yeah they did a good job fixing a lot of the issue on the vintage vehicles. The old Rattler amd CLAW were really fragile. The new ones are great.

There were some slight changes to some of them. Bumble Bee has a new cartoon accurate face. And Star Scream has hands that can accommodate a scaled down Megatron in alt mode that comes with the Seeker. Prime doesn’t come with the trailer. While Soundwave, his tapes, and the Devy set seem to be pretty much dead on reissues. There are slight changes to the Star Wars figures too. Mainly in the hands but nothing that I felt ruined the figures.

They are listed as Retro series in both Walmart’s site and on Bigbadtoystore (whatever is still available anyway). The only line that I am aware of that used Classics was the 2008-2016 Dc and MotU, which were Marvel Legends style remakes.

Ah I did not know that about the TFs. Yeah there is a chance we may get the TRU comic pack versions of these, and not the straight up 80s releases.

Not that it matters, but my research does not show that. Walmart definitely lists the ghostbusters as classics. I did uncover an older line called Retro for Ghostbusters, which appears to be fashion dolls.

All that crap just gets tossed in a box. I knew it was an issue, because I was trying to sell figures off, and my son had successfully raided the gun box on multiple occasions, leaving most of my listings as, what you see is what you get, please don't ask if I have something not in the picture.

Does it matter at this point? To me it seems you guys are arguing semantics. Either by "Retro" or "Classics" or "Vintage", they're all reissues of original toys, be it Star Wars, Transformers or Ghostbusters.

There are actually a lot of differences in the TF reissues that to the untrained eye look the same. Which is probably what Hasbro was going for. Hardcore fans would know the difference when it comes to their collection while casual fans are happy to just own the figure.

My aging ass will just leave them carded, probably. Of course, the urge to have Zap actually hold his Bazooka without being called "lefty" is strong.
