I have to say... I really, really want these figures to be something other than o-ring re-releases. I realize the trend these days is essentially re-release the vintage figure 5 POA and all, but I really don't want to pay $15 for an o-ring figure nor does the idea of o-ring re-releases generate much excitement for me. This being an o-ring supporting fandom I doubt I'll find many like-minded collectors in this regard, but still.

I agree, as well. I'm a broken record over here, but I have no interest in paying modern day prices for 30 year old figures. My sense of nostalgia isn't that strong.

But I would probably only buy a carded CC if it's O-rings and maybe not even that.

Id be more hyped for newly sculpted O-ring style than reissue or 6” for that matter. It’s something I wish Transformers and Star Wars did as well. I don’t want reissues so much as an extension of the original toy line. I don’t need 100 points of articulation lol.

I am getting a little anxious to finally see what the retro line is all about - I would personally love to get faithful vintage reproduction figures from the ARAH line - even if they are just the same mold and figure because brand new plastic is better than 30+ year old plastic in that regard. If it ends up being just a re-hash of the 25th anniversary stuff I won't be disappointed but will feel a little mislead since this is being marketed as a retro line. I will still do my best to buy up all the figures but as I think about it I will probably skip out on the Hiss and Awe Striker because I have them already from the 25th anniv line. I do hope this first wave is successful and we do see more iconic vintage vehicles released though - especially the WHALE.

Reissues are the same for the most part. Any changes made are for safety reasons, such as shortening Optimus Prime smokestacks.

While I understand that some people want new sculpts, I would temper those expectations.
Every other retro line has been straight vintage re-releases, and these will be too. If they look good with proper packaging I'm in for a complete set.

Well, every other vintage line except . . . Vintage Star Wars.
