I like how Walmart puts the sticker over the character's face so potential buyers can't tell that the package for a Black man has an Asian man inside.

So I keep a half-assed eye on the ME retro walmart guys on Walmart.com out of idle curiosity. It's not a regular thing, but when I happen to think about them and I'm at the computer, I check to see what's still hanging around and the price. Grunt jumped from $12.93 to $20.00, and when I clicked to see if it was walmrt selling or a 3rd-party, it was a 3rd-party but "fulfilled by walmart" and it was no longer available from walmart itself. This is something I think I've noticed in the past with other stuff: it seems like walmart will sell their stock to a 3rd party seller who then jacks up the price on the website without the product actually physically changing hands. Yet another reason walmart sucks.

You know, never say never. What goes around, comes around. If the trends continue, I suspect highly-articulated 6" stuff will price itself out of the market, people will lose interest in it and it'll become a "premium" format, and smaller scales will increasingly move in to fill the retail void. Thing is though, in order to keep the price down below/right at $10, that stuff will have to be simplified and articulated less, like Spin Master's DC figures and Mattel's Jurassic Park/World. Seems like there's a growing demand from both kids/parents and adult collectors for more cost-effective toys.

I will say that we can maybe see from the upcoming Indiana Jones toys that the action figure market for children is apparently now primarily made up of younger, preschool-aged kiddos. If lines like Spin Masters' 4" DC line disappears, I think we can surmise there aren't many older boys still buying toys.
