If I can collect the entire 1982 line up in 2022, then bring it on. Then bring 1983 in 2023, on & on & on.

I?m trying to emulate the perspective of someone who doesn?t stay as informed on the Joe brand.
Seeing the back of Stalkers card & not seeing any of the rest of those figures on pegs with him, seeing the pegs filled with just him, & seeing the same situation at multiple stores doesn?t inspire confidence that I could collect this line. So why start? So which is it? I'm not singling you out personally, please don't take it that way, but we have folks here saying figures not on shelves will be the death of the line, figures on shelves will be the death of the line. So what would the best strategy be for Hasbro, then? And just to preface the question - it's not reasonable to suggest a massive, fully stocked display like we remember from Toys R Us 30 years ago. Somewhere between supply chains and current shelf space (and retailer interest in keeping those shelves overwhelmingly full) is the reality we need. So let me actually rephrase my question: what *current* toy line do you see on shelves that GI Joe should aspire to be like? What specific aspects about it should they replicate?

When Classified was a PITA to find in stores, these boards had people saying "this is a bad look for Hasbro and won't convert people into the line." Now figures are available in stores and people are saying the same "figures are on pegs and that won't convert people into the line."

I don’t think I want to buy my collectibles at mass retail anymore. I don’t like driving around & finding what’s supposed to be on the shelf, or finding nothing at all. There’s no more surprises left. If I understood the Pulse panel correctly, O-ring is Pulse only thing & I’m fine with that. I’d prefer the releases to go like I stated in a post above, but most importantly show me what’s coming & make it available sooner rather than later. Last edited by txbart; 11-14-2021 at 08:48 PM.. |

It's nice to see that people on here still care for the smaller scale joes. I remember when the classified 6 inch joes came out some of us on here wanted more "me" figures and I read that the smaller joe line should die or is dead. I still want more "me" joes and won't be buying o ring joes had them as a kid and don't need them again im happy that people do want them though

I have only ever seen Skeletor and He-Man in the wild. So using Retro Stalker and Trooper as a comparison, GI Joe is keeping up.

Skeletor and He-Man are anchors, though. If someone were to say "oh, look, MOTU figures!" and discover this new line, they don't want Webstor, they want the main characters (if any).
Seeing lots of Cobra Troopers on pegs may be close to that, which I have seen in the last month or so.
