Looking good brother, you definitely need a new SS v1. That one looks a bit yellow.

I really wish we had gotten that Concept Vault Grunt head sculpt on the new buck. That one was sweet!

I think I figured out why I'm so ambivalent about the o-rings - the construction is great, but I don't think the sculpting holds up at all.
If they'd have done a new buck with modern-era looks and an o-ring waist that would've hit the sweet spot I think. |

I told a buddy yesterday that I feel oring was great to play with but ME is great for display. Now, that could be because I grew up playing with oring, so, if I'd grown up in the ME era, maybe I'd think those are great for playing with.

^ You hit the nail on the head for me. ME are fantastic for display. But for play and vehicle/world building interaction I prefer o-ring.
The solution? Both! |

A similar analogy would modern games that go for an 8-bit or 16-bit aesthetic. My point being there are markets for both o-ring and POC style Joes.

90% agreement there. In terms of figure details and head sculpts modern era is far superior. The caveat would be the 80's & 90's o-ring figures had far superior muscularity in their sculpting where as the modern era figure physiques are more representative of soft doughnut munching dad bods. One of the reasons the Classified Outback looks so good is they sculpted him with a decent physique similar to his 80s look.
