i discovered something this morning on the gijoe website. if u go to roles for the characters the seperate link they actually show all the characters they plan on releasing for the classifed series they were in red meaning they werent shown a pic yet. These are the figures I see that are coming. all the dreadknocks, Cobra BAT, Cobra Viper, Cobra trooper, Storm Shadow, Major Bludd, Roadpig, Crimson Twins, Baroness, and a few characters I didnt recognize. one might be a ninja of some kind. u can see for yourself. just go to roles and u will see all the characters coming out. The movie and the fact that wave 1 sold out almost instantly and can't be kept in stock anywhere right now.

I've had this discussion on TFW2005 before, but I totally disagree. The worst thing about Transformers toys is the fact they transform. It's why so many of them have giant backpacks, horrible seam lines, fiddly joints, and are ridiculously fragile. This Red line is brilliant.
But, it's yet another ridiculous retail exclusive. Meaning it will be impossible to preorder, distributed incompetently, and a scalpers' dream. So I probably won't bother with it. It’s still utterly ridiculous. ;)

I’d have to agree with jlw515 that a non-transforming Transformer is ridiculous. However, I will readily admit that I HATE transforming them as an adult collector. If they LOOK like they could be transformed but can’t, I might be okay with that.

Try MP ones! They can transform, but they seriously seem like they aren't meant to.

When I was young the non-transforming Action Masters were a dream come true. G.I. Joe had spoiled me with it's articulation, so I struggled to play with Transformers. They were fun to transform, but I couldn't actually play with them like I could my Joes, until the Action Masters line.
That being said, Transformers nowadays have great articulation, so I'm not sure where the benefit is with this Red line. Is it simply aesthetics? Because I also feel like current Transformers look pretty damn good. Last edited by Matt82; 06-25-2020 at 03:42 PM.. |

Because I also feel like current Transformers look pretty damn good. As for the GI Joe retro line, I want the definitive version of the original toys or Sunbow designs but with the modern era construction and detail. My hope is that it is a continuation of the 50th/Ultimate figures. Those Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, and Snake Eyes were excellent. There were so many characters that were left out, though. <<cough>>Duke<<cough>> I guess we'll (maybe) find out tomorrow. |
