These figures look so cool but alas, I am snake-bitten by previous Kicks and I am not sure if I want to get behind another one.

Aw, c’mon. Eagle...uh...Squadron? Wait, it’s on the tip of my tongue. Eagle...(*reads notes from 2016*) Ah! FORCE! Eagle Force funded at 130% and those figures are just around the corner.

I really only want the heads(for customs).
We need a Jimmy Carter & L.B. Johnson head sculpts so I can do customs of the Ex-Presidents, since Marauders gave us “Keanu”

This is a fun project, so I'll keep it positive, running through what I like and would like more.
I like a Kickstarter, but I’m skeptical of how much legs this has to reach the stretch goals, as the pledge levels mostly seem to be multiples of the same base figures. I like that the Kickstarter is run by an experienced toy guy who Fresh Monkey Fiction’s Bill Murphy talks highly of. But it’s a double-edge sword in that it is tied closely and Eagle Force hasn’t delivered yet. I don’t love the Eagle Force body (no thigh cut or torso swivel), but I love space figures and like the deco enough on these to overlook that I think (albeit grudgingly). I like that the bubble helmet is detachable, as appears to be the harness it attaches to. These could be very useful to add to other figures, so I would love if they made a basic set (no logo) of these as an add-on. I love that they aspire to do so many heads and want to make them available as head packs (I’d buy head packs all day long). Chicken Fried Toys’ KS was good this way in having extra sets of accessories and heads. But the best head packs (modern presidents, Flagg/Danko), in my opinion, seem too far down. So I would love to see these moved up as more realistic stretch goals. I would also like more if they kept more to the space theme (at least at the lower stretch goals). For example, drop the Mount Rushmore heads and give us space age presidents (Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson). I don’t get why the troopers would have enclosed helmets under a bubble helmet, but it doesn’t really matter to me, as just means I could strip the bubble apparatus off and repurpose on another figure. I don’t dislike the suits, but I don’t see how they make sense economically. They aren’t much different from the Marauder suit, which you can buy for $15 (body, head and gun) versus $20 for these. The general figure seems more novel, so I would move him up and the suits down. I gather both of these are attempts to fund the suits first revealed by Fresh Monkey Fiction under the teased Monster Force. |

Thought I'd put up a new thread for this topic to break it into a separate conversation.
Check out the Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...tion%20figures This line has lots of potential for usage outside the actual line itself! Things I would love to see added: * Green Body for the Space Force, with the green armored helmet (HALO wannabe) * Soviet Union Trooper head in green with no change to the goggles in red with gold trim (Hydra Soldier head) * Green body plus green Soviet Trooper Head (Hydra Soldier) * Captain Eagle head to have a five o'clock shadow on it (like Nick Fury of The Howling Commandos and original Shield comics - so could be used with a WWII theme or an original SHIELD theme) Maybe I'll think of more, but what ideas do you see on uses for the Space Force, or parts from Space Force? Just having a dress shirt with tie torso could be useful, since Zombie Labs went with the ruffled look and MGR sacrificed the shape of their torso to look better under the buttoned jacket.

Man... I really wanted that not-Hydra goon. I wish Amazing Heroes had structured their kick better and funded all the golden age stuff.

Agreed on the Amazing heroes, I was most interested in the goons and henchmen characters, and some of the stretch goals, but I would like them to be more the 4" size as MTF, Modern Joes, etc, than the 3.75 as the Adventure team and Sectaurs will turn out to be. It's out of my control, but I wanted them to fit in a bit less noticeably....
Who knows if that updated new style sculpt project will return though for Amazing Heroes. |
