Thanks for the update. I'm in the camp that doesn't care for the new designs and won't be getting the ones shown so far with the possible exception being Duke depending on how he looks in hand. I hope the 6 inch line is super successful though as that's the only way for there to be a chance to get something I do like. I'm guessing if this takes off some classic figures will get mixed in with the new designs.

Opinion no one asked for: I think it's a mixed bag. Personally, I have no interest in a 6" Joe line. I may buy a couple just to display with their 1/18 counterparts but that's about it. However....I don't wish ill on the new 6" line BECAUSE if it is successful, we could very well see either a renewed 1/18 line or at the very least some 1/18 love for movie lines.

Personally I think we should have more of a campaign going to get true 6" G.I. Joe Classics. I have no inherent objections to redesigns. But they should come from the heart of the brand and its legacy as well as changes in real-life modern military operations, not from ripping off a competing toy line that's the current flavor-of-the-month. The latter is the poor way G.I. Joe operated during the weak early-to-mid 1990s era of the brand, not during its bestselling 1980s heyday, which was driven by much more originality. If that's Hasbro's idea of what a redesign is now, then it's best to just ask them to give us faithful classic remakes. My current feeling is less excitement and more like the feeling of going to see that long-awaited sequel or movie adaptation and having it turn out to be a disappointment.
Also I don't remember this article making any mention of 3.75" figures at all. It should perhaps be acknowledged that the current hole in the marketplace for that scale of Joes left by the closure of the club shows no signs of being filled. I would also add that the secondary market for Joes of all eras is on fire right now, despite the line being on a hiatus for the longest period of time in years. Arguably the 1982-1994 ARAH line is seeing the biggest jumps in demand out of everything. The state of the legacy Joe collector's mind is very active right now and this is something the manufacturers should try to take advantage of in the right way. The manufacturers may have been sleeping but the longtime Joe fans were not. |

So, because I prefer classic styled designs, I’m a paranoid guy that only likes o-rings and sleeps holding toys? |

Hate to say it,but there is so little for me, re: GI Joe. Snake-Eyes movie is a bust from concept stage, 6 inch will only be a novelty purchase of SE and Scarlett (and maybe a VERY select few others), but at MOST, I'll spend less than $100 on Joe this year, tops. 2-4 6 inch figures, and the Liefield comic. That's it.
I'm glad new people might be interested, but this old dog of a fan is barely hanging on and about to walk out that door. |

Was this 6" line introduced as it being geared towards collectors, fans, kids, or they didn't say specifically?

I don't recall them saying as much, but it feels like an attempt at a catch-all to me. If that's true, they've arguably succeeded there with us grumpy old bastards, despite those of us who aren't won over. Hopefully they manage to impress the kids as well- they're doomed without 'em
