This isn't a big surprise, but I'd thought I'd pass on the correspondence. I contacted Haslab just out of curiosity - it was nice that they took the time to respond:
"Good Morning! Is there someone in charge of Haslab that we can request items to be produced? I'd love to see the GI Joe Gliders that came out in 1983 to be reissued like you guys did with the Missile Command HQ" And here is the response: "Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. We appreciate your interest. I am pleased to reply, but regret to advise there are no plans at this time to produce GI Joe products. Consumer satisfaction is very important to us. Please be assured I have forwarded your comments to my management team so that they are also aware of your views. I want to assure you that all of us at Hasbro are dedicated to maintaining quality products and service. We hope you and your family will continue to enjoy our products for many years to come. Thanks again for your interest."

Honestly theu would consider it if enough people petitioned for it. What should happen in my opinion is WE take a poll and decide what the majority would want, get people to commit to buy, and then send it to haslab so they can do there thing. This would make it less work on there end, and they would already have an idea how many want it.

I’ll be frank. I think it might be unwise.
The lines that had Haslab offerings were proven. When Transformers Classics/Generations started, the buy-in asked per year was under $200 for everything. It has steadily grown to over $1000 worth of releases last year not counting Unicron. Starting with an aggressive buy-in might spook customers. I quit Transformers for awhile when it seemed that to get Thundercracker and complete my 1984 seekers, I would need to have ordered a $200 convention set. They later offered Thundercracker in the U.S. after a couple of Japanese offerings but it “spooked the horses” for a lot of collectors. Some were discouraged before that when Skywarp was in a Target exclusive 2 pack with Ultra Magnus! I think it makes the most sense to keep the total buy-in affordable and spend a few years easing customers into spending more before dropping anything too expensive. I fully expect Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers will get a 6 inch compatible scale MegaZord either affordable through the discount line or through Haslab. But it makes sense to me not to LEAD with that and wait until they get around to releasing all 6 classic MMPRs. Once collectors have those and Lord Zed and Rita Repulsa then the idea of a 6 inch scale Mega Zord or command center with Zordon or the restaurant with Bulk and Skull become more palatable because those collectors will be over $100 deep on the line and eager to expand it. Likewise, Joe playsets and vehicles without enough new figures to compliment them may seem cart-before-horse. |

Spoof accounts to inflate our numbers is a really bad idea. Creating a false impression of popularity that doesn't pan out would get the line canned pretty quick.

Agreed. Hasbro did a poll for Star Wars Black Series figures a while ago, and tons of people made spoof accounts to the point where it wasn’t even funny. Darth Revan won (which I’m fine with) but the amount of votes he got compared to the others (especially Dengar who was at the bottom) was physically impossible. Later, people on Twitter and in the comments of Jedi Temple Archives admitted to cheating, but justified it by saying we got a good figure, who has been shelfwarming at Bestbuys for years. They later did it again, and Dr Aphra somehow got double the votes Arc Trooper Fives did, but at least she didn’t shelf warm.

It may not work here, eventhough this site has 23868 members. It would take a good majority of the folks here to actually participate. Maybe like what Sataninjaku suggested or some other means and advertise the hell out of the cause to get enough votes on a petition to make a difference. Even the members here that frequent the threads definitely wouldn't be enough.
