I got my Regal Cobra Commanders.
The QA on these leaves something to be desired. In addition to paint slop from the gold trim in the helmet, he suffers from the same misshapen helmet prongs as the Retail version. The variance between my copies is pretty astounding. The blue is better than the Retail blue, but the excessive gold undermines the figure. If I open one, I will remove the silly watch chain like I did with my retail, but I'm not sure I like the figure enough to bother. I realize that I just don't like the Classified CC and am really waiting for a new mold. The color scheme isn't the problem. |

I received my Regal Cobra Commander today. In hand, I think I like this one better than the dark blue retail version, honestly. The light blue feels more like the V1 1982/83 Commander to me.
In my perfect world, I would have given the Regal CC more silver accents and the standard dark blue CC more gold accents. But I think the Regal CC is going to get the more prominent position on my desk and the dark blue will go to the display shelf. Also, I got lucky in that for both versions of my CCs, the paint looks clean and the helmets are not warped. |

I agree, I think each one looks good. I think I am partial to the regal version now having it in hand, mostly due to the nostalgic color for me and what I remember having as a kid. I received mine yesterday. I purchased two. One has a messed up helmet and the second one is perfect.

Does your retail Cobra Commander have a miscolored crotch or is that just the lighting? It reminds me of the issue with the Cobra Trooper (that ended up coming to nothing).

Different textures of plastic reflect light in different ways. So if you are blasting it with intense or otherwise non natural angles of light, it will look different per part. Plus, post processing things like colors, saturation, sharpening etc can increase those differences. That's why promo shots of hand painted things look different many times, as paint is more uniform in light absorption / reflection. That all being said, I try to correct for those things when I edit, but I didn't even notice that till you pointed it out. Before I export finals will keep an eye out. |

My local Targets are showing Cobra Vipers in inventory (according to popfindr). Anyone finding them yet?
