Agreed. Even the much maligned Roadblock is 90% a straight update of v2 ARAH Roadblock. I personally love the figure. Scarlett is the only radical departure and she is still the best Scarlett ever made IMO. I have 5 Red Ninjas and 3 more on order because they work with Joes and Marvel Legends.
Joe fans have to face the facts that this line is built to cater to the new breed of 1/12, multi-brand action figure fan.

Actually my feeling was that they modelled Lady Jaye directly on her voice actor Mary McDonald-Lewis, as I think the resemblance is very strong:
I'd say that Lady Jaye could have used more techie bits or metallic flourishes on her design, I get that they were going for the v1 design but the v1 design was always a little plain. IDK, they could have pushed her design a bit more. Not to Scarlett levels, but maybe like how they handled Gung Ho. Also she looks so skinny. A slight more thickness would have been nice.

Oh and her javelin launcher has a name I never knew. The Apollo Caster.

The double jointed elbows will almost always help make a female figure look skinny. The arms seem stretched out and super thin.
It's why I wish they would avoid it. But I get that I don't care about articulation as much as some people. Like McFarlane, I'm much more interested in clean, elegant lines on the figure.

You made me laugh with the "No, no, no, no, no NO!" In my mind's eye I see an animated character saying it in an exaggerated way and it just made me laugh. |

If that's the case, they need to figure out how to get these on shelves. I've only seen wave 1 in the wild once, and considering that I'm nowhere near as invested in these as I am 4", having to hunt only to come back empty handed has just about killed any interest I may have had.
BTW, PM me your address, I owe you a wave 2. |

I think the updating is a good thing, but MAN do I want a classic-looking B.A.T.! That's one spot where the newer design just doesn't hit me the same way.
Some things would probably be just fine as a colour variant, like a Stinger driver, Cobra Officer (not just an armband), or maybe some Python Patrol troops. But there are some designs where they could probably really mix it up, and I don't think the figure would suffer for it. Like tele-vipers, or Airtight. Anyone especially attached to the design of the Annihilator? Of course, even the most "classic" Classified designs will have small updates, that 10% figure everyone has been using. We can ask that some figures are classic, but I think we also have to compromise on other figures if we want to be realistic and taken seriously in the context of this line. BAT and Crimson Guard--classic (10% update) Tele-Viper and Sci Fi--50% update (Sci Fi game design perhaps) Eels--25% Shipwreck-30% Buzzer-10% Zarana-20% Scarlett-50% You know, you could go down the line like that, giving and taking, and seeing if there's any consensus. Just marking them all 10%, Lenny would say, "nope, that's GI Joe Classics, we ain't doing that just yet" *wink wink*.

I guess it's a bit similar to MOTU Classics, where most designs were "fed through the Classicizer machine", but every now and then we'd get a sub set with Filmation or movie-likeness. |

Ugh. The dreaded 10th post on a forum page, guaranteed to be buried. At any rate ...

Or the Classified version? Because I would change that one 95% (leaving only the head). 2) Taken seriously by whom? "Lenny"? (And does he really possess absolute autonomy on all design decisions?) IMO, every character should be modernized by a bare minimum of 15% (with a maximum upgrade of 35%). That feels like a fair compromise to me. Also, someone somewhere mentioned something about three more figures coming in this wave. Are we automatically assuming that to be Major Bludd, Barbecue & either B.A.T. or Alley Viper? Cause I could imagine a cynic thinking, "Roadblock, Scarlett and who else?"
