I'm not a 6" collector and I need to stop nerd raging about the newest Retro reveals. So what is the overall consensus with the Classified Flint and Lady Jaye? Are these on the level with Classified Zartan, or more on the level with W1 RB? I haven't been keeping up with this thread.

I really like the new 6" line, I've got them all out of the boxes (14 of them). It's been a real task getting them. I was lucky to be at some stores when they came in. The only negatives I find is that some have loose ab joints, and one of my red ninja has a loose hip joint (right leg). The new flint and lady jaye are spot on. I can't wait to see them in person. And zartan is crazy good. I'm all in for this line, they all seem to work when they are all together design wise. And I think they are getting better and better as they put more out. With the video game out now the other characters can be designed without thinking how they will look in the game. The fact that digital sculpting has come so far is amazing. I'd like to learn it. I do think the 3.75 inch collectors are getting the short end of the stick. Mind you I keep dreaming of real vintage joes in the future. Keep it up hasbro classified team. info about the sculpting |

Lady Jaye looks absolutely amazing (better than I even dared dream). No complaints at all, actually.
Okay, maybe a few minor ones. Hat should be black or green, and the kneepads are too noticeable to leave unpainted. Also, someone mentioned the neck joint creating a creepy "flesh shirt" effect. Pretty sure it was jscott991 who wrote that. (Sorry if it was someone else, sadly I'm forced to scan through a lot of pages super quickly.) At any rate, it was a good point. Dat Flint doe ... no, just no. I get it's mostly the body armor, but he still seems WAY too swole, imo. And totally not feeling that face sculpt either. Makes him look like some sorta mook. In my world, Flint prefers a "Gavin Newsom dinner party" to a "bench press contest with Chris Cuomo". Apologize for the political reference, btw. I couldn't think of a more suitable comparison. I actually almost wrote "I wish Flint seemed more like the kinda guys who attend my school, than guys who attend Rutgers". But that just sounded awful. So I left that part out, and went with the Newsom/Cuomo thing instead.

I'm also collecting retro but I already Pre-ordered Zartan and Supreme Cobra Commander... Still waiting to do the same with Firefly and the Viper. Flint and Lady Jay both look amazing... Lenny the designer is really making them look more like the cartoon. Specially Lady Jay... I even think the face looks like BJ Ward.😀✌️
I'd say that Lady Jaye could have used more techie bits or metallic flourishes on her design, I get that they were going for the v1 design but the v1 design was always a little plain. IDK, they could have pushed her design a bit more. Not to Scarlett levels, but maybe like how they handled Gung Ho. Also she looks so skinny. A slight more thickness would have been nice.

It's why I wish they would avoid it. But I get that I don't care about articulation as much as some people. Like McFarlane, I'm much more interested in clean, elegant lines on the figure.

The double jointed elbows will almost always help make a female figure look skinny. The arms seem stretched out and super thin.

Just overall, I like my action hero ladies to have a bit more meat on their bones. These are elite soldiers after all. Marvel Legends women always struck me as rather spindly too, but I don't collect them so maybe its different now.

Yes I see what you mean, you can see it in this pic especially:

While I used to be excited about more articulation, especially when Toy Biz Marvel Legends first came out all those years ago. Honestly, I would be happy if all companies dialed back some of the articulation. Just a little bit. |
