So let's say that the 4" figures are actually done. No more. So that it makes me wonder, if they are not going to do 4" figures what happens to all those molds that they made? Do they just keep them and store them and let them collect dust? Or do they throw them all away?
1. Just stored them - that’s how we got some RAH vehicles - and what I assume they are currently going to do with them - let them collect dust. 2. Sold/leased them to other companies - Bronze Bombers and I guess the Club was essentially a licensed non Hasbro producer of figures. How ever you want to define that relationship with the club. I mean essentially the Club was another company licensing the Joe name to make figures. The only difference with what some of had hoped with Jazwares is they didn’t sell them at retail. 3. Some were either destroyed or broke and we rebuilt for RAH and this seems to lean more toward vehicles |

A: It's very disorganized because a lot of it is basically at the whim of the Chinese factory and warehouse owners/runners, and so it's not uncommon for molds to go missing/be difficult to find, etc... especially if they haven't been in active production for a while. B: There's only so much space to go around and it's (relatively) expensive to store them, so a lot more discarding/destroying of molds goes on than many people would be happy to hear about. And that's all not even getting into how crazy it gets if your molds say, get licensed to another country or company (See: Playskool Joes, etc...). Though from my understanding Hasbro does a lot less of that these days and instead tends to operate in foreign countries directly. I'm pretty sure I remember some noise from the Club at times that certain molds they wanted to use were "unavailable" for a whole laundry list of reasons. Quote:
Currently I don’t know, but here are some of what has happened in the past with molds:

This is probably out of the question, but imagine if Red Laser or Black Major got his hands on the ME molds!

I've thought about that a lot. I wonder how feasible that would be with the added parts and different plastic? Not ruling it out, the actual production of those figures is something I've always found interesting myself.
