Im sure this script is very early and Hasbro would never let them make this story line. Quote:

A studio exec! As for Hasbro, what worries me is that it was months ago that you posted a link from IGN that stated that the movie was taking the Duke Action Man buddy approach and Hasbro said nothing. I hope they jump on this fast but if not then I will be very worried.

My opinion has changed several times for that movie but for the last few months, not sure how many, I have really been look forward to that movie and how much it will rock. The designs are different but at it's core it is just a retelling of what we have grown up with.
G.I. Joe on the other hand is not. Maybe, and I know some will hate me for this, they should have had Bay do G.I. Joe also. At least it would be close to what we expected, I think. At this point I would settle for a Monty Python version of G.I. Joe, at least we would know what to expect from them. The Transformer movie designs do not please me at all. They look like naked robots to me with all those wires etc exposed.

I haven't read either script, but from El Mayimbe's reviews, the first script souds very promissing and the second sounds like complete caca. They really missed the source material completely. It's one thing to change Wolverine's costume to black, add flames to Optimus Prime, but this G.I. Joe script throws everything that is G.I.Joe out the window.

the line that a real g.i.joe story line won't sell is a load of crap....
all you need to do is throw in a couple of original characters from other countries like the O.G. and put in some good real action sequences and RESEARCH the line for the proper character tie ins and you could make a great movie the would make a fortune. |

Ooo. That's rough.
I've never seen him so livid about a review. He just detonated there, didn't here? As a TF fan first, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't get a kick out of seeing this movie come out and having it be further from the source material than the upcoming TF movie is. But that'd be offset by not getting a movie that has the potential to ROCK in favor of some original-Street-Fighter-movie garbage.

Yeah sure, politics may make us not have the movie we want.....whatever. Here's a script for ya:
Start with a briefing room in the Pentagon with a bunch of high level officials discussing intel about some new terrorist cult that seem to worship snakes (Cobras specifically) have a lower ranking official suggest they reinstate something like the "Action Man Protocols", other officials argue about how it was a failed experiment with "enhanced soldiers" or something. Then have the guy who suggested it propose a New, updated team of covert specialists from all over the world called GI Joe (Lets say, in honor of the team leader from the Action Man Protocols) Then show a bit of the recruitment procedure with say, Duke, Snake-Eyes and maybe a few others while also cutting a bit to show Cobra Commander doing the same thing recruiting Desto, Baroness, Firefly, etc... Have a few skirmishes between the two ending with a big battle in dowtown DC or something and allow the main guys of Cobra to escape while a lot of the troopers are caught and arrested. Boom, roll credits! Now you have a fairly decent movie (If a better writer than I wrote it ![]() |

This will never see the light of day. However, that being said, if Hasbro would allow this "DETH OF DA LINE!!11!1!!1one!!bbq!!uno!1" to happen, then it would be fair to say where we as fans would know where we stand. |

And I thought it couldn't get worse then the script with Cobra Commander as a Bane wannabe.:(
I hope this either never sees the light of day, or that it is HEAVILY rewritten. The basic plot COULD be good, if you replace the surfers with actual villians, get rid of the idiotic love triangle and not letting Scarlett die. They could call themselves Action Force, and at the end of it some leave the team (with Action Man being the first to go), with the remaining team members calling reestablishing themselves as GI Joe, to answer the newly arised threat of Cobra in the sequel. And you know what's funny? They have Action Man in it, but not his arch nemesis: The dreaded Doctor X, a wannabe cyborg scientist with the robotic, green left hand. xD
