Okay, I take back everything I said. It would be worth watching the video just for this.

Well I guess I’m “Toys before principles” but I had to check out how they answered Trevor’s question.
“I’m not going to ignore the criticisms or ignore the negatives of the product or the company just because some of it is good. That would be dishonest of me” - Laserpants on still purchasing Hasbro products and his opinion of Hasbro. Has he mentioned the breakages of Action Force? Has he mentioned Bobby personally attacking Lenny? |

That'd be a good shirt for JoeFest. Just change 3POA to 3PoS and it's covered under the parody clause of Fair Use. ;)

That stream was about as much of a clusterfuck as I'd imagined it would be.
Someone gave a $5 superchat to the guest who wasn't even in this round of layoffs, he was let go over a year ago. I'm sure the money isn't going to anyone but the 3POA anyway and they ended up pocketing $165 in superchats by the end of the night. ![]() Everything discussed was pretty much normal big corporation bullshit that goes on everyday but somehow it was way worse to them because... Hasbro. This was as much about Bobby getting to air a bunch of his grievances as the guest. It was filled with recounts of all of his personal Hasbro resentments, and of course he had to take another dig at Lenny: It's too bad they kept Lenny, I was hoping to hire a new janitor here. He's living rent free in Bobby's head. Ryan compares Hasbro to a cigarette company selling nicotine and having collectors trained to buy anything and blindly defend them. That while admitting that half his room is Hasbro stuff and he likes a LOT of what they make and isn't encouraging a boycott. Yes he bought 5 Sentinels but he only kept 3 so TAKE THAT Hasbro! Insert eyeroll. All the normal stupid bullshit. These guys have absolutely zero self awareness. Last edited by RAHChuckles; 02-09-2023 at 02:37 AM.. |

I see that video, but in my experience, I've popped Pandora's and Kill Switch's heads on and off quite a bit and had zero issues. And have moved all three of their (Eclipse, Pandora, and Kill Switch) ankles in reasonable movement and had no breakage issues.
I haven't bent these things to the extremes these reviewers might have (I have ZERO issue with all my Zaranas' arms popping off) so I can't say it's everywhere or not. Just IMHO my experience has been positive with Series 3 after they seem to have loosened a bit from heating, minus the absolutely immovable knee joints. |

It's IMHO the same as the government saying the U.S. has added thousands of jobs when it's just the people who lost their jobs in the pandemic due to closures getting their jobs back. Or as we see here, the other side arguing thousands of jobs are being lost when it's again just going back to the mean. |

These were supposed to be made in a reputable manufacturing plant. It's worse if we play devil's advocate and take Bobby's claim at face value. I've seen this before. If there were bubbles in the plastic for these, it wouldn't have just been on the inside. There inevitably would've been some that were visibly cratered too. So if what Bobby says is true, that means rather than scrap them all (which is what should've happened), they went through this defective batch and salvaged all the pieces that "looked normal" to save $$$, and included those in the production run. That's not a line decision, that's a management one, and likely was Bobby's call after being notified about it.

The real problem is that people, especially men, attach their sense of dignity, self worth, and identity to employment. Making matters worse, we have unreflective dullards like Tony using unemployment in his "sick burn" toolkit, berating people for being jobless losers, whether they actually have a job or not. It doesn't matter to him. He'll just assume. It's a huge psychological vulnerability that he has no qualms about exploiting.
So, then we have companies being tasked with ensuring that everybody has a job, forever. They can't guarantee they'll be in business in 5 years. It's impossible. If you create a world where people can't be let go, you have created a world where people can't be hired on in the first place. It's a topic worth discussing, but not by 3POA. 1) because they're not bright, informed people. But 2), they are the equivalent of state-run media in China or Russia. When they run a story about the problems in western democracies, are they always lying? No, but it's propaganda nonetheless, because they have a huge incentive to make the West look bad. They'll report on the bad about their adversaries, while suppressing any information that doesn't flatter them or their agenda. I could be wrong. Maybe someone on the podcast will present a viewpoint more nuanced than "Hasbro is callous and evil", but I doubt it. A lot of times these mass layoff reports ignore the mass hiring that led up to it. A lot of the big tech companies that are laying people off now are basically just rolling back their workforce to where it was 2 years ago. I would be interested to find out how many people Hasbro employed 5 years ago, vs how many people they employ today, after the cuts. The corporate saying goes that they have to cut jobs in the present in order to be able to (hopefully) create jobs in the future. Of course, it doesn't always work out that way. Now that the business is leveling back out some of those large companies are dumping all those employees. To be fair those affected shouldn't have issues finding new jobs. I know the company I work for is hiring for a lot right now. They just might not get the same inflated compensation they got during that resource hoarding. The company I used to work for used COVID as a reason to dump tons of under performing workers and replace them with new people. They did the same thing during the 2009 economy recession.
