A buddy and I were talking about this when the Selfie Series launched. Why Hasbro didn't offer a SB figure through the initial rollout is strange. It's PERFECT for that.

I have a feeling that Vala will address why all of Action Force disappeared from Dorkside yesterday in the next 3POA podcast. Crazy how quickly things turned for the worse in a matter of days.

I keep thinking that how crazy it would be if Dorkside leaking the Classified Major Bludd before the figure was announced was the catalyst for it's demise. The domino effect of Hasbro finding out and then not shipping them their new product orders until months after BBTS, Pulse, Amazon, and EE got them probably screwed them over with a lot cancelled preorders, large amount of stock that then had to be clearanced, and then throw in PayPal banning them when customers reported they were taking money for preorders and not fulfilling them within 180 days.

That would certainly contribute, but are we sure this happened? Or is this still speculation? The same end result could easily arise by simply using preorder money to make new bulk inventory purchases instead of holding onto it until product arrived. Especially with how wonky things still are with preorder/shipping/arrival dates.

They've had that problem of getting shipments in way too late since at least 2018. Back then, I cancelled a wave of Marvel Legends that had been out for several months everywhere else and was on CLEARANCE at Amazon. The issue long predates GI Joe Classified.

Honestly, that just shows how stupid it is to try and cross a multi-billion dollar corporation to make a quick buck.

All you need is one angry ex-employee to send a tip to Hasbro of what you did and you're basically screwed.

I really wouldn't be surprised since for sure Hasbro was planning a major announcement for Bludd as a surprise. And then Dorkside makes a few thousand on selling one? That's gotta piss Hasbro off.

had the idiots there just sold them in house to friends and family it probably wouldn't have been a big deal. But it just seems odd Dorkside suddenly got Hasbro stuff dead last after a while.

I have no idea, but employing Occam's Razor tells me that very likely Dorkside' demise has very little to do with Hasbro backlash over Major Bludd. Bad business decisions (i.e., being stuck with mass overages, etc.) especially if the business in question is already balanced on the head of a pin financially, can sink a retailer. Some are run on shoestring budgets and barely keep the lights on as is. Add in poor buying/selling decisions, aggressive takeovers by new management, death in the family and a host of other major life events and you don't need Hasbro giving you the stink eye to kill it. It could be that due to not paying certain wholesalers either in a timely manner or at all effectively killed their Hasbro contract. Or as some have theorized, what they did with M.B. caused Hasbro to remove their distribution right/contract. All of this to say, very likely the cancer started deep in the core of their business and eventually the organism could no longer survive.

Would still be nice to get some kind of formal announcement from them as to what's happening/happened, but barring that speculation is all we have.
