Hasbro doesn't own the design for urban cammo, which is where the lawsuit would ultimately lead. That's the only aspect that makes Raptor look like Firefly. Both debuted in Season 3 and I believe Havoc was an exclusive, limited skin, with Raptor being the main skin widely available via the item shop.

Again, it would be like the Canon Group suing Hasbro because Storm Shadow looks like Cole, from Enter the Ninja. They would lose as neither own exclusivity over ninjas, nor the rights to the white gi.

Gotcha, whereas, the vests we've been discussing originated with Paramount...or was it Hasbro? In either case, Vala is vulnerable to litigation.

Frankly, he dances close enough to the line & is small potatoes enough? I doubt any reasonable person would spend the money to take legal action? over vests or otherwise. Especially if they didn?t do it over the more obvious things from the start of the line, or the JoeCon prototypes. He?s not taking sales from them. In some ways, he helps? between gear kits for customizers & driving conversation around the comparisons of his figures. They?re selling out of Classified wave after wave? while AF figures sit or get clearanced out.

Plus, they can take the high road & just make solid figures. Hell sling his mud? Hasbro will continue to make the figures most people want. Steel Battalion will come out, and at that point they will have crushed the last of the ?one ups? he thinks he got over on them.

Exactly. If you look, the vests on Flint and Duke differ enough from the Paramount one (though both are Hasbro's since they own the IP outright - licensing out GI Joe to Paramount for the films). Bobby's does not differ enough from them significantly enough to avoid litigation. Simply adding different pouches is not enough.

Yup! While litigation would put Valaverse on the curb financially, Slaughter did more damage on the public front despite all the prior trash talking and poor attempt at rebuttal after his release. The public knows. In a perfect world, it would lead to Bobby upping his game. Unfortunately, with who he's chosen to surround himself with, he's the Prequel Lucas in this scenario - sans the deep pockets and creative (<-- key word there) design talent.

So I think Dorkside is shipping me the updated male Steelbrigade instead of the female Steelbrigade that I ordered. Seeing that many people here had contacted Dorkside about the mix-up before the orders were sent out, kind of makes me wonder what is going on at Dorkside. It's like they either don't care or are trying to sell everything off as quickly as they can even if you didn't order it. E-mailed them about 4 days ago about it and haven't heard anything back. Luckily, I used a credit card to make the purchase so when it does come in and I verified that they mistakenly sent me the wrong item, I can put in a return request and if they don't respond, I will ask my credit card company to do a charge back. Never had an issue with Dorkside other than it took forever for some Black Series waves to arrive. Now, I'm cancelling all my outstanding pre-orders.

To clarify, Vala designs the figures on paper and someone else sculpts them, correct? Whereas, Lenny sculpts the Classified figures, which are designed by someone else?

I ordered a Trigger through them and the transaction was flawless. But that's a scary scenario, when added to the PayPal drama (either Paypal canceled their account for failing to deliver as buyers claim and not refunding payment, or they canceled their own account directly for an unstated reason, which is a headscratcher. I suspect it might have something to do with them not being able to fulfill delivery of product by the PayPal preorder limit, which wouldn't necessarily be their fault, but being unable to refund because that money's spent, which would - and would also explain the need to expedite order processing to have cash on hand.).

I believe Vala sketches them up (copies existing IPs) digitally, then sends them out to a sculptor (the guns he outsources), and paints up the masters once he gets the resin prints. Hasbro does both, in-house and outsourcing. But I would say both he and Lenny are head of design for their specific lines, so the end result is a product of their designing.

Here you're referring to Lenny designing and sculpting the figures? If so, that's impressive. That would make him Ron Rudat and Bill Merklein all rolled into one.
