No offense meant to the more sensitive among us, but I could care less. I like the Joe comics, but honestly, the artwork has never really appealed to me. In fact, it might be nice to see another company take over this license to see what they would do with it- for good or ill.
After all, we still have the figures, and that for me is truly what counts most. |

Regardless of who takes over the license, I just hope they don't wait to long to get new product out. I hope they have stories to tell right away. The shelves don't need a long gap without some Joe comics. Not with the success of the toy line and up-coming movie.

I wonder if this means new continuity, or if it continues?

Well that sucks. I really liked what DDP did for G.I Joe, they kept faithful to story line set up by Marvel and followed it into their own series. The stories were good and it was backed up by awesome artwork. Will the next publisher do the same? let's hope.

Hope that Marvel gets it back and Hama goes back to the saddle.

That sucks!!!!
DDP has done a great job with the G.I. Joe comics. I have been reading G.I. Joe since issue #1 that Marvel put out back in the day. Marvel did an awesome job of bringing the characters alive and getting us to know them. Dark Horse took things in the wrong direction. and Devils Due brought G.I. Joe back to the public in a big way even keeping the continuity that Marvel had set up. IDW is a good company but I'd rather see the title stay with DDP. Either way I guess I'll keep reading them unless they total stray from what's been done in the past like Dark Horse did. ~Rob "Murderface" Rinker |

I hated the way the deaths happened in 31 but over all I loved your run Please DDP just finish the book on a high end and put the best possible books for the loyal who stuck with you every issue the last 7 years if IDW takes the license they will trash the continuity sadly like they did TFs and if that happens then my joe comic reading is finally over Just like Transformers

I can't say I am too thrilled about this. Image/DDP and Gi Joe/ AE are the reason I came back to comics and Joe Collecting. I thought they did a great job.
If IDW gets it I hope the current crew goes with it (I really enjoy WW3), but I am not sure about their contracts. Otherwise I am not a big fan of IDW. I read some of their stuff annnnnddddd eeechhhh. There is promise if Marvel gets it b/c of their stable of writers and artists.IMHO I'd love to see some M. Turner covers or E.Brubaker penned stories (probably not). That being said it could also be a bad thing if they put some unknowns on it and start turing Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commander into Skrulls or having SS-Wolverine crossovers!!! Oh man can't Hasbro just leave well enough alone??!! |

What are things that some of you dislike about the TF art in the IDW books? I think EJ Su is one of the better TF artists, as his strength is in his visual storytelling, which is far superior to Pat Lee's. My main criticisms for IDW's tf artists is with their colorists(and a handful of pencilers who overdo the detail to the point of being cluttered). Don is one of their best illustrators, Guido is good, but Su is the best sequential artist they've got for TFs.
I'm not so sure Marvel would treat joe right. Yea they did joe in the 80's but Hama isn't with them at the moment. Not to mention they have a new buddy called Joe Quesada, and look what he recently did to Spiderman. What IDW did with Transformers, is get one of the writers from the Marvel run(Simon Furman), and have him write most of the stories. Also, the continuity is different and not bound to any previous continuity. A reboot of continuity is possible with Hama still at the helm. |
