Sounds like Hasbro/Paramount are just throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks, like Lucasfilm does, lol.

So did Marvel when the MCU started, they said they were going to make a Cable move, a Dazzler movie, & a Power Pack movie, guess what they haven't made yet.

It's only because of the recent Disney/Fox purchase that characters like Cable and Dazzler will be able to be brought into the MCU. But even so, it will still take awhile. Ten years ago, it wouldn't even have been considered. |

Wrong. When the MCU started a decade ago, Cable and Dazzler were owned by Fox. So no one associated with the MCU would have claimed they were making movies with those characters because they would have been fully aware they didn't have the rights to them.

I would be fine with a Vietnam backstory that leads to an 80's set GI Joe in the same timeline as Bumblebee. This seems to make sense, given that John Cena is rumored to be a Joe in Bumblebee. Then they can do a new team for the modern day if they want. If a regular Joe movie with SE and others is set in the modern day, they'll have to retcon them all to Iraq or Afghanistan war vets.

Great. Like I said, no one associated with the MCU claimed they were making a Cable movie as part of that universe. Nothing in the article you linked disputes that. In fact, there's not a single quote in that article from anyone actually employed by Marvel. I wouldn't take the list of "lesser-known properties" the writer mentions as some kind of official announcement of a Cable movie that never happened.

Allow me to clarify your statements to the best of my knowledge.

Snake-Eyes hasn't got a release date yet, G.I. Joe does, I don't believe the rumor that G.I. Joe will be called Snake-Eyes. In the announcement, it was G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Dungeons & Dragons, and and untitled Hasbro event movie, if G.I. Joe was untitled it would have say so in the announcement just like the untitled Hasbro event movie. So the official title at this moment is G.I. Joe.

Also here's good thing to point out, the last writers who talked about movies by Hasbro were wrong. The two writers who said that Hasbro didn't say anything to them about Rom and M.A.S.K. and they said those movies and most likely not happen, then Hasbro announced a writer for Rom and a director for M.A.S.K., so I'm not going to believe this writer who might not be working on the movie, because Hasbro can fire him if they wanted too.
Also, Evan Spiliotopoulos isn't a nobody screenwriter. I'm pretty sure his statement came with confidence. People can't just mouth off these things in Hollywood without repercussion. That interview was open to the public. I'm sure he knew what he was talking about. Quote:
I keep in touch with what's happening behind-the-scenes at Hasbro/Paramount every single day. Plans can change but this is what's happening as of today.: 1. The next G. I. Joe movie is titled 'Snake Eyes'. 2. Snake Eyes IS the 'Untitled G. I. Joe Movie'. 3. The movie is coming out on March 27th, 2020. This date can change. 4. Evan Spiliotopoulos is the screenwriter of Snake Eyes. 5. Loranzo di Bonaventure officially confirmed as a producer for the movie. 6. Hasbro has the greater creative control. I'll let you guys in on things fairly soon. |
