Word has it that Walmart will be sublicensing out a lot of the True Heroes product to pick up the slack where TRU left off. A lot of their Adventure Force and Kid Connection toys are already based off Chap Mei designs.
Also, Ross periodically carries Soldier Force, which is basically True Heroes without the TRU branding. Unfortunately, a lot of the really big Soldier Force-branded versions of the vehicles are only carried overseas; TRU's rebranded versions were the only (easy) way to get them in the US. I haven't heard if Walmart plans to carry variants of all of them or not.

New here, how's it going guys? Well, I've been to 5 TRUs in my area over the past week and at 50-60% off, the shelves are emptying pretty quick :(. I'm curious of what happens to the True Heroes line? I hadn't payed any attention to online prices until recently when I was too late to get my hands on the U-53 Heli, that's when I noticed what I am assuming are inflated prices online.
Those giant sets, (Sub,BattleShip, Missile transport, 2 different helicopters) after being discounted, were only about %25 each. Those sets are ENORMOUS and a great deal at that price. They're selling on ebay from $50-$149. I wouldn't be shocked to see them go even higher once Christmas comes around and there is no more ToysRus |

Well, it shoots Nerf missiles, which seems to be frowned upon among collectors. Also, the back half of the ship folds back to convert it into a different type of playset. It's just a mess.

Well my TRU was pretty wiped out. I was hoping to come back at 60% off and get some more, so I decided last TRU run today. No helicopter UH-53s, but I did get a desert Apache, no Hawk planes darn it, no trucks, no subs or C-130s. Did get two hovercraft, and one more battleship for a paint change project. Also a 6" Vader with the stands of the Black Series for my setup I want to do with Vader, and all the bounty hunters, and lastly a vintage 6" Iron Man. That's it, placed looked like a tornado hit it now....

If anyone picked up the Animal Planet “Dark Forest” playset for the vehicle and doesn’t want the tree monster, let me know. I think my 3 year old would love it, it’s long out of stock around here unfortunately.

Has anyone come across any GI Joe stuff at any of the TRUs? I may end up visiting the two near me this weekend in the event that something catches my eye for a cheap price.

One of my local TRUs had those Loyal Subjects super-deformed Tiger Force 2-packs last I was there.

The remaining 1/4 is an undersized inner Falcon passenger area, a really REALLY crappy cockpit, and a flip pop up turret section at the top. That's all, you can't do anything with the rest. |
