Thanks for the update Destro! I personally really like the 6” Joes and will be buying them all!!! Hopefully they make classic designs down the road (which is very likely) so that all fans can get what they want!

Personally I didn't see anything at Toyfair that got me excited. I think Classified are ok looking figures but they aren't what I was hoping for. They're a little more futuristic looking than military to me. I'm sure we'll get classic designs though so I'm not giving up on it.

I will laugh my ass off if the Titan figures are Sunbow style.

Was there any mention of the evergreen G.I. Joe line, Jazwares’ 4-inch Joe figures, or the upcoming G.I. Joe animation from Entertainment One?

Personally I think we should have more of a campaign going to get true 6" G.I. Joe Classics. I have no inherent objections to redesigns. But they should come from the heart of the brand and its legacy as well as changes in real-life modern military operations, not from ripping off a competing toy line that's the current flavor-of-the-month. The latter is the poor way G.I. Joe operated during the weak early-to-mid 1990s era of the brand, not during its bestselling 1980s heyday, which was driven by much more originality. If that's Hasbro's idea of what a redesign is now, then it's best to just ask them to give us faithful classic remakes. My current feeling is less excitement and more like the feeling of going to see that long-awaited sequel or movie adaptation and having it turn out to be a disappointment.
Also I don't remember this article making any mention of 3.75" figures at all. It should perhaps be acknowledged that the current hole in the marketplace for that scale of Joes left by the closure of the club shows no signs of being filled. I would also add that the secondary market for Joes of all eras is on fire right now, despite the line being on a hiatus for the longest period of time in years. Arguably the 1982-1994 ARAH line is seeing the biggest jumps in demand out of everything. The state of the legacy Joe collector's mind is very active right now and this is something the manufacturers should try to take advantage of in the right way. The manufacturers may have been sleeping but the longtime Joe fans were not. Last edited by JediJones; 02-27-2020 at 05:40 PM.. |

Classified is the evergreen line, there are no Jazzwares 4-inch figures, and an "upcoming G.I. Joe animation" is currently wishful thinking.

Which brings us to Jazwares that has also acquired a G.I. Joe license, but the only product shown so far are the Domez style static figures. If there is something bigger going on at Jazwares it’s on lock-down or negotiations didn’t go as planned for something broader. Zero animation news.

Nice to read one of these with new product soon to be released. I'm crazy excited for the future. Once this goes well I fully expect we'll get classic ARAH designs. Thank you, Destro
