Wasn't that what killed the Retaliation line? They released the figures and then delayed the movie to add 3D. By the time the movie was finally released, public interest in the toys was gone.

That initial batch were clogging the shelves when the movie actually released much later. to make matters worse the stores basically cut the Joe section way down by that point before the movie even released. At my local Walmarts and Target from a few days after the cases were put out until months after the movie, crappy ver Flint, Duke, Roadblock and a rare Snake Eyes is all that were ever on those pegs. Never saw the Ultimates in person either even at Toysrus which was the only place I actually found a Mouse, Lady Jaye and Jinx Last edited by SPECTER; 01-09-2018 at 11:44 AM.. |

Walmart and Target lost millions of dollars on the ROC and Retalliation toy lines due to lack of sales and reduction to clearance. I'm not sure any of the major box stores will pick up the line again unless their is signifigant reassurance of rebranding and toy appeal to kids. Counting on our community to support has already demonstrated what not to do. Don't expect a mass saturation like 25th and ROC.....probably more along the lines of 30th as far as volume with perhaps a few more new figures.

A Cartoon = OG TEAM..and the first movie should be the OG Team...and Shooter and DOC.
That gives you a Latino (Zap) and 3 African Americans ( Doc, Shooter and Stalker) Set it FOR NOW..They were formed due to 911. work in the shadows..Have CC wife die in the Trade Center..he feels America didnt do enough or was maybe behind it. Forms COBRA.

The brand alone will not keep it afloat anymore, and Hasbro needs to have something ready to maintain momentum.

I watched The GI Joe episode of The Toys That Made Us and was impressed with how inventive and enthusiastic the folks at Hasbro were to reinvent GI Joe for a new generation back in 1981. Where is that enthusiasm now?
