Which I do myself. Even in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd FSS's there were more figures I didn't like as opposed to the few I did like but still subscribed and put the ones I didn't like on auction at eBay starting at 99 cents and watched the wolves fight over it like raw meat and still profited so the figures I did keep actually costed me nothing.

Universally, Grand Slam was anything but... however I love ARAH inspired figures, he was one of the first I ever got as a kid, so I was actually very happy to get him. Same with Tan Grunt, I had the glider as a kid.

As hated as Windmill is, he's a fucking quirky-ass figure from left field... I would have preferred his American version sure, but the India version is goofy as all get out and I love it!

There are figures everyone else here loves to death that I find boring and useless... but that's just our opinions. Yet they're spoken as fact.

And as much as I want Golobulous and the Royal Guard, I'm not sure how anyone thinks the Club could do that based on their previous releases. It would require a lot more than simple kitbashing and parts swapping. I'm a fan of the Club, don't get me wrong... but even I know they have limits. If Hasbro themselves have a hard time just getting us figures, (as explained at JoeCon 2016) I know the Club surely does too.

Just enjoy these while they last...

I am actually looking forward to the Funskool Windmill. And you are right, let's enjoy getting new figures (some good, some bad) while it last. After all, even back in 1984 there were some figures that I did not like then. As much as I dislike getting yet another CC, there are some collectors that want him as evidenced here.

Sure hope somebody can so we at least get a complete '80s lineup in ME before FSS and JoeCon end. Not getting The Fridge would be understandable if licensing proved prohibitive, and hell it was only a mail-in back then anyway. But the rest of the missing first ten series figures are disappointing when they're delivering the 700th version of Cobra Commander or Jinx. The focus on delivering so many post '90 figures in general is kind of a shame, most of which lack as rich a nostalgia value, backstory, or unique toy parts (many of them being rehashes or mix-n-match partsbin concoctions). Plus, as most '80s ARAH fans would probably agree, a lot of the post-'90/91 sets with their gimmicky crap were off-putting even back then. Hasbro was out of ideas and the market was changing, so they were struggling to try to keep GI Joe relevant and introduced a lot of weird themes and colorsets that don't mesh with the GIJoe of the '80s.

Before worrying about recreating that stuff, let's get the fundamentals out of the way, please.
Plus, you'll attract latecomers to ME like me that can actually bring new support/funds to FSS and increase the chances of it continuing. I've been collecting ME all of about two months now. Closing in on 250 figures already, have most of what I want and just waiting for those "collection completers" like Golobulus, Royal Guard, ToxoViper, HydroViper, HardBall, etc to convince me to buy a subscription and pay for future FSS series instead of just cherry-picking specific characters via eBay. I'm glad we're finally getting a Blizzard and Crystal Ball. If they look pretty close to the source material, I'll get those either way. But most of this set is a pass for me, so I'm hoping if there's an FSS8 it makes up for a lot of the misses here in 7.

If this FSS lineup has proven anything, it's that there is demand, in varying degrees, for every figure. I think this sub is a total failure, others absolutely love it top to bottom.

I still don't think we agree on any basic concepts as it relates to the sub- I, for one, would prefer damn near 100% of characters that don't have an ME release of some kind, yet others have been clamoring for Tundra Stalker for quite a while. If he can't agree on something as simple as new characters versus V2s, etc, then there's no way we'll every agree on a 13 figure line up.

that being said, I do feel this sub lacks the balance we've seen in previous line-ups.

Every sub for me has been 50/50... so I get half of what I want, then try to sell/trade the ones I don't want.

Of course there will never be uniform agreement, all we can do is express our opinions of it and hope they take note.

The one thing that would truly be a shame is if ME ends without providing an ME version of the fundamental figures from the ARAH lineup. More than happy for them to make every single post-'90s figure to their heart's content, so long as it doesn't prevent us from ever getting the classics.

Yeah, but Grand Slam was the "free" 13th figure, so where is the incentive for the Club to put any effort whatsoever into him?

Well, using someone else's work as a stepping stone just makes good business sense. But also, there is a very real segment of the Joe fandom that has been wanting the Arctic Cobra Commander figure (like me!). They don't always do it, but the Club does take demand into consideration...after all, when everyone's collective vagina exploded over Salvo, the Club listened and changed up his parts.

Granted, if the Club made figures nobody at all wanted there would still be a small number of Joe fans that would buy them no matter what, but overall they'd be out of business if they didn't listen to the fans at least sometimes.

There has yet to be a FSS wave that I wanted 100%...if there was, I would have subscribed. For example, in 7.0 I think I only want Arctic CC and the Dreadnok Kaos, although that might change as more mock-ups are revealed.

I agree with the perception that, with seemingly only a few fss lines left, we should have gotten original characters, not another hawk, another cc, another stalker, another dusty, etc.
