lol, you sure are.
Then don't subscribe if it's going to make you cry this much. Honestly, I can understand saying, "nah, I don't like a certain figure." But so many are bitching like their puppies have been molested when the Club has released some TRULY dogshit figures in the past, including minor repaints of figures they had just released at JoeCon, that rotten Grand Slam figure, etc. Arctic CC is at least an original/non-repaint figure and the Club wouldn't have included it in this wave if there wasn't demand for it. I sure want it. |

Well, this is the way I think of it. In almost every FSS there is one $100 figure, one $75, and say two $50 figures. That is 4 figures that would cost me $275 to track down on secondary market. Then there are another 4 that probably fetch $30 each. So now I am at $395 for 8 figures. That means that there are another 5 figures that are mediocre but based on the previous; those remaining 5 have now an allocated cost of $16.46 each. That is one of the ways that I justify subscribing. And yes I know it is OCD, borderline clinical.
Plus, you can sell off the other figures you don't want to defray the costs of subscribing. Personally, I never subscribe myself...I have a friend here who usually gets several subscriptions and sells me what I want from each wave so I can cherry-pick the figures I want, so I probably have much less of a reason to complain than you do to begin with.

That also brings up what you and I consider mediocre... Universally, Grand Slam was anything but... however I love ARAH inspired figures, he was one of the first I ever got as a kid, so I was actually very happy to get him. Same with Tan Grunt, I had the glider as a kid. As hated as Windmill is, he's a fucking quirky-ass figure from left field... I would have preferred his American version sure, but the India version is goofy as all get out and I love it! There are figures everyone else here loves to death that I find boring and useless... but that's just our opinions. Yet they're spoken as fact. And as much as I want Golobulous and the Royal Guard, I'm not sure how anyone thinks the Club could do that based on their previous releases. It would require a lot more than simple kitbashing and parts swapping. I'm a fan of the Club, don't get me wrong... but even I know they have limits. If Hasbro themselves have a hard time just getting us figures, (as explained at JoeCon 2016) I know the Club surely does too. Just enjoy these while they last...

I sure want it. You’re going to have to support that there was actual demand for the figure prior to the Club deciding to make it which instigated the choice to make it. Otherwise it’s simply a matter of the club’s common practice to utilize existing designs that Hasbro had already completed the paint masks and design work for, which means it has nothing to do with fan demand but laziness on the part of the Club to produce a figure Hasbro already did the prep work for. Why go through the trouble of doing all that work for a new figure when Hasbro already did it? |
