I like this figure, love Arctic styled figures too though so this is great for my collection.

The goggles, mostly. The helmet itself fits OK, but the goggles don't fit very snug. Neither do the sais, since there's no "loops" to prevent them from falling off all the time.

It's a nice-looking figure, I think, but I agree--it's definitely not FSS material. It's more of a "we really need something at retail" version.

So, on the Club Board, someone by the Handle "Zandar" wrote a note about the figure being a lazy repaint..

the user went on to ask the club "why have a forum if you delete all negative commentary"...

Comment is now gone and replaced with "sweet repaint!"

Brilliant.


Side note - It still blows my mind that we're already looking at FSS 7 offerings and some are STILL surprised that the Club will do what the Club does.

So, here's the thing that doesn't make sense to me... The club is a money-making business, right? They are 'in business' to make money. Its not simply just a non-profit 'club'. Logic would assume that they would want to produce the BEST and MOST PROFITABLE figures they could. I can understand that not everything can have a new head. Some things need to be repaints for sake of cost. But still - why produce something that very few people WANT? Wouldn't it make more sense to produce something that costs the same - but will have more demand?

Is it poor decision making? Or is it just laziness?

I agree, this lazy repaint was really half-assed and was definitely a waste of space.

Chances are customizers will repaint a 50th Anniversary Ice Viper to save up on purchasing the FSS Ice Viper Officer individually.

I understand your point, but I disagree because I don't think any customizers care enough about this character to want their own version.

Lazy repaints of filler characters that the Club made up are doubly bad.

Cause the main people who will buy it will still buy regardless, so why not save a couple dollars here by doing a repaint like this. They know that as long as there are enough highly sought after figures that people will want, then they can throw some crap in there to save some money. They probably feel that most people who have stuck with them this long will buy the sub cause in the long run, it's still cheaper to sub and then sell what you don't want than to go after the ones you do want individually.
