Yeah, no.
The book would have needed to be good, which I'm not feeling, and that was before the Twitter nonsense. |

The numbers just aren't there. What new fanbase are they trying to reach out to? Kids aren't reading comics much anymore. Even ARAH isn't doing that well anymore, and yet it's allowed to continue on.
I like Army Ants. I like the silly. The zany and weird. I need to smile and this is great, imo. So different from the usual Joe stories. (Don't get me wrong, I still love a good old fashioned Joe story.) I just like the unpredictability of this.

Sitterson WILL get dropped. I believe IDW doesn't want to risk losing future writers/pencillers/etc. because they "sided with a white nationalists mob." While that's a ridiculous claim, it's out there. I think IDW figures the sales numbers will be so bad, they can drop Sitterson based on sales alone.
Of course, if people don't put their mouth where their money is (or Sitterson's friends don't all buy the book for the first time), the sales will be fine and Sitterson gets away with being 2017's douchebag of the year, free and clear. I will still buy Hama's ARAH, but I will not buy anything with Sitterson associated with it. For his stupid comments yes, but the crappy art and writing even more so. Hasbro's Army ants? Pathetic. |

I can get down with GI Joe having more creature and supernatural tones. Does anybody remember way back, the story arc with Duke, Airtight and a couple others in the Arctic and there was some kind of beast? Maybe it was DDP Frontline if memory serves me correct? It had a very x-files feel to it. That story arc I totally dug and would enjoy more stuff like it. The current feel is just too silly/cartoony for lack of way better words.

Adventure Team could take the Joe characters and throw them at the insane things like aliens, zombies, mutants, so on and so forth. I'd be all over that, as long as it had decent art, story, and writers that weren't idiots. |

I said it elsewhere- it would be really cool if we had 'GI Joe: ARAH' and 'GI Joe: Adventure Team'.

Ok. I have been slow on the uptake. I didn't realize that Scarlett's Strike Force was actually going to have the Joes (if they can still be called that) fight human size, cartoon like, army ants. I thought that people were just joking and taking it to an absurd extreme. I feel like I am in an alternate Gijoe dimension where every ridiculous idea becomes reality. At this point my only hope is for a savior to arrive with a staff of power and free the Joes from their IDWverse enslavement and lead them to a land of fine storytelling and art. Actually, that sounds like a better story arc than what IDW is offering. "Let my Joe's go!"

So your only on board when it's something you like? What is wrong with using the fatal fluffies for fans of the cartoon or the army arts with helmets? We don't know where they come from or what they really are, if anything they could all be tired to the Inhumanoids which IDW is planning on rebooting also.
