Slow down guys, you're reacting as if Brian Savage actually knows what he's talking about. Consider the source.

Brian works for the club. His statement is a half truth...no new Joes released in 2017...yet! Why would Hasbro share product release information with Brian Savage. He's a fly on the window looking in like the rest of us. Here's some intel: Club is on its last legs, is poorly run and probably should have lost the liscense last year as planned. They want you to believe that their product is the only option so you'll gladly fork over $25+ for their kitbash repaints. Here is solid information we know...club is done after next year! Bye Felicia!

If you are looking a for hope for us I think our best option is Chap Mei and Lanard's 1:18 lines, they are at retail now and probably will return for this Christmas. Quote:

I am happy with Marauders and Eagle Force figures, BF2000 Con figures and next year FSS 7.0 plus more Marauders kickstarters coming. I won't miss not buying Joes at retail, saves me gas from driving to Tru anyway. ;)

So, btw how is 'elite collector' defined anyway? Its just a matter of how much money one is willing to spend or not spend on a product offering. That's how I see it and I don't consider myself an elite collector. I buy what what I like and fits in my collection.

Not a surprise at all. The Modern Era has been a good run. I'm happy with what we got from Hasbro and the Club. G.I. Joe needs to come back reinvented, new format and some new creativity in the line. We got FSS and the this year/next year Joe Con to sunset this era.

As good as the kickstarter 1:18 projects may be, they are as "exclusive" as the FSS. You need to have really thick wallet to get a full collection of whatever line is produced, the figures after produced just stay as "exclusive" for the project backers and no one listens about the line anymore. So nothing kickstarter really thrills me as they only are produced for the backers and then the toy line dies for not to be seen again. So FFS and KS remains for the "elite" not for the common citizen.

Is this the end of Joe as we know it ?
Probably. Still either in a "future" movie line or a 6" collector line we'll see a return of Joe based toys. Or maybe not.:(
