Good Morning, Gents -
I too ordered the book outside of Kickstarter, so I definitely understand the frustration that a lot of folks feel. I've reached out to Jim in hopes of getting an update against both the Kickstarter books and those that were ordered direct through the site when the pre-order was made available. I know that Jim has tried to move Heaven & Earth to get this done. My comment is by no means an attempt to cover for the scenario, but more to note that I can only imagine how frustrating the delays are for Jim as well, seeing as how this turned in to a logistics nightmare (having to ship books from China to the US in order to fulfill orders in the UK). I have no doubt that BFTB has every intention of getting our books in our hands. Before anyone requests a refund, please sit tight and let's give Jim the opportunity to share the current scoop. |

All, I have great news to share! I've reached out to Jim and you'll be pleased to know that he was just in the process of writing up a Kickstarter announcement to send out to backers! I also have an update for those that pre-ordered the book directly through BFTB, so let's get to it!
Per BFTB, the books have cleared customs. Jim has sent Rising Sun the money to cover a U-haul. They have all the posters, comics, bookmarks (Kickstarter incentives), address labels, envelopes and inserts all good to go - as soon as the books have been collected (there are 63 cartons! 500 guidebooks and 500 magazines), they will process the orders. Jim is working with Hawk as we speak to get photos that can be shared with all of us who got in on the book. Jim will be sharing an update on Kickstarter shortly, which can be seen here: Action Force Palitoy Collectors Guide - Updates As the containers Docked on the 10th of August, they should clear customs and be en route to Rising Sun for distribution. If I know the ports (I was in Logistics for close to 10 years), they should have that stock moving in this next week (fingers crossed!) FYI to all - Please know that you can always contact Jim directly at [email protected]. Claiming that Jim lied is a strong choice of words, as there hasn't been anything questionable in the data we've received so far - Printing was to be done in the UK; Had to be done in China. Had to be shipped from China to US mainland, AFTER sorting through issues that could only be resolved through weekly Skype calls. The logistics behind this are enormous. Again though guys, I want you to know that I too ordered a book, so I have a stake in this as well. I personally am not worried in the least bit and I don't think any of you have reason to worry either. |

Understood but he did say a few times books would be in our hands within a few weeks and that was in July. It was right there in his update so....but I get it. Delays and such. But the update you just got, why wasn't he communicating it with the rest of us all along? It's like "dad" had to get involved and that's silly.

I get where you're coming from but I can dig where he's coming from too; It really is a "no-win" kind of scenario. I agree that updates should've been more fluid, but would we really have been happy hearing about a delay in customs? I know I for sure wouldn't. As for Dad stepping in, lol, I can see why it feels that way. That's why I want to note again - Any questions/concerns can be sent directly to Jim. He's not active here, so our conversations regarding him may be missed completely. That's not to say that there shouldn't be more communication readily available to you as the consumer (ie - you shouldn't have to hunt it down), but anyone can do what I just did, with the same result. Either way though, it looks like things are going in the right direction. Hope this helps. |

Thank you sir. I appreciate your help. I think peeps just get nervous prepaying for an unknown then get delays. I contacted him via email In early aug and didn't get a response but noticed he was posting on twitter but I can't message him since he doesn't follow me so I got a little testy. I mean I don't blame him a bit. He knows people are mad and he can't fix it so I would tend to want to ignore them too. Bad thing is I was super into it to start but now it's kinda of buyers remorse. Kinda like the Zica Adventure People figs. That's all. Guess I just let my temper flare about it and for that I apologize to the gang.

No worries at all man, you're preaching to the choir about tempers, but I'm sure if he reads this the apology will be appreciated. We're all human, except Steevy Maximus, who's an upgraded Atari 2600.

I received a Paypal receipt right after I ordered the book on April 26th. It is now September 19th and almost another month has passed since we were last shown pictures of the books being prepared for shipping right here in California.
Kickstarter supporter or store buyer, please post an update for the rest of us if you've received your copy since Jim "isn't active here" to give us the lowdown. |

The most recent news I have read was one day ago, when one of his Kickstarter backers asked, “Have these started shipping? And will I get a notification when mine are on the way? Has anyone received their books or a shipping notification yet?” to which he answered, “No, not yet, I'll post an announcement when there is a development.”

Playful, I checked out those Kickstarter comments you mentioned. Just what IS the deal with this guy???
The book's financial backers were supposed to be his top priority. His last post was a month ago. He showed the books being opened and prepared for shipping, yet no one has received anything in those four weeks??? The lack of communication surrounding this thing has me seriously reconsidering whether I will ever back another Kickstarter project. Who or what is he going to blame for the delays this time around? China? Rising Sun? Cheap printing presses? His bank account? Lousy business practices on his part? I should have gone ahead and reported him to Paypal instead of giving him a break on account of the hissy fit he threw at me. Now, it's too late. Trying not to be the bad guy will always get you screwed over. |

Guys, Jim won't screw you over. Just chill, it's only a book after all.
