If we are working on a large project, we will make our intentions known early in the process. Here is the "official" notice that we are planning a World War 2 series of figures and weapons. More details to follow, but now we are on record so if others annonce similar projects, our project is not a surprise. ;-) MJ

Bring it on. I had many models of World War II planes, tanks, and aircraft carriers when I was a kid. Just don't forget to have some lady's. It would be fun to have a Bob Hope figure for the USO tour also.

At first I thought I wouldn't care for this. But now I'm trying to think of ways to make a WWII Gi Joe AU. I'll finally be able to find a place for that garish red and black Cobra Commander in a display.
I just hope they don't shy away from, ah, authenticity on the German side. I know putting that emblem on your product can be a touchy subject, but I think its important. Either way, I hope we get a nice assortment of US and British troops, along with German and Japanese troops. I'll have to track down some appropriate vehicles, but that shouldn't be too tough. |

Oh man, wasn't expecting that!
In my Joeverse, I've integrated the WW2 Dreamwave TF vs Joes with aspects of the WW2 Captain America movie story into my Joe mythos but never planned on making customs for it. Also the X-men/WildCATs Wolverine and Zealot storyline. So this could be an opportunity to make customs for that era. Also good to see MGR setting their longer term intentions out as so everyone knows their strategy and they can't be accused of copying or treading on the toes of others. Just when my wallet was starting to recover, this news comes out! I'll for sure back them.
I'll have to track down a bunch of those old 21st vehicles when MTF's WW2 figures come out. Back when those 1:18 21st century WW2 vehicles where still in Wal-Mart and other places, I picked up the German 250 halftrack. I always planned to paint it in Cobra colors but never did. I really wanted the Sherman tank and American M3 halftrack and 2 1/2 ton truck, but never could find them. The 21st figures were pure crap though, such bad paint apps, gear that wouldn't fit. The idea was great but just not done very well. But they really hit it out of the park with vehicles. I am really going to look forward to these WW2 figures from MTF. I hope they will eventually make everything from infantry to tank crews to plane crews, officers and sailors, dress uniforms even. Some of them we could even use with Joes, sailors especially and some of the dress uniforms for 1980's ARAH era anyhow. |

Finally, a source for decent M1 helmets and grease guns!
I'm really hoping that Marauder branches out a little beyond US and German stuff though. I would love to see some WWII era Soviet stuff. Out of all the 1/18 WWII lines nobody has ever made any Russians, the closest we got was two figures in the Indiana Jones line. The real war was fought on the eastern front, as far as I'm concerned. Also, a lot of Soviet equipment is still being used in the third world today, so some of that stuff would be of interest to modern customisers...
