If I gave a shit about Big Lob I'd probably be okay with this figure. Looks good, ankles be damned.

"Big Lob Makes His Move"!
Then breaks his ankles since he has no ankle movement. |

I have to partially agree here Xero. The forward/back is soso, but the side to side is horrible, plus the peg hole in the heel is terrible, I prefer it mid foot so you can actually press the foot down on the peg. I think the 25th went over board with the articulation. It actually becomes less fun and more frustrating for kids to play with. They should do away with the ab crunch and double knee joint.

That's not the mock up, that's the actual figure. Brian chimed in about that and the fact that they are sometimes required to use the entire figure mold
"Hi Guys, I'm jumping in to clarify that this preview is the final Big Lob figure based on available tooling at the time of production. As we've mentioned before, some occasions we are required to use entire figure molds. Thanks for the feedback, but we have no plans to reduce action figure articulation. Just remember that we must work within the existing inventory to meet production window deadlines." |

I don't understand this statement. Are they under the impression that we want even more reduced articulation so therefore they have no plans to reduce articulation? Or Big Lob is actually getting articulated ankles and that's why they said they have no plans to reduce articulation?

I think he means they have no plans to intentionally reduce articulation moving forward. It's just due to what tools needed to be used that some figures would have reduced articulation.

i dont mind the legs at all. If they improved them... sure that would be cool. but then they would probably give him the legs without boots which I think look stupid. They've been giving more and more joes "shoes" instead of combat boots and I hate that. there in the military plus most the original ones had boots.

Random question: when did Fun Pub first start publishing the GI Joe comic strip that runs in their monthly newsletter/magazine?

Well, I'm signed up for my Big Lob. The legs don't really bother me as he will just sit on a shelf.
