For a minute I thought I walked in to a Medieval LARP session with the amount of Knights here, yikes.
This is gonna be a long post. Feel free to move right the fuck along, or stay awhile as I spill some tea. I've been quiet on this topic outside of a few "WTF?" posts on the Campaign page, so since everyone else gets to throw in their $0.02, here goes: Back in 2016, I was warned by people well connected in the industry, even one that was in China at the time, not to get involved in the Hell Screamerz Kickstarter or anything that Solomon was doing. I was looked down upon for sharing word of the campaign on the Front Page here and subsequently on my own blog. Not knowing Solomon and not knowing where all the angst towards him was coming from, I chose not to pick sides - To the point that I stepped down as Senior Editor here and lost a few friends along the way...all because I thought someone's word was still worth something in today's day and age (insert fuck me, right? gif here). Sure, I had heard the stories of Solomon being a shady, him never using a real name, et al. That said, the conversations that I had with Solomon were always pleasant. We talked toys. Seemed like a decent dude that wanted to make a dream come true. With that, I backed his campaign. Since then, we've dealt with all sorts of shit in "real life", the Pandemic being the most obvious. I mean, fuck, I went through 6 months of fucking Radiation & Chemo Cancer treatment. I get that life happens. Crazy how every other kickstarter that had issues has somehow managed to get through it all. Shit, tip of the had to Spero Studios for getting TWO campaigns out of the door in the same timeframe that we've been waiting for Hell Screamerz. For those that continue to point out that the factory is in Wuhan, how hard they've been hit...That's great, but careful, you come off like you're gaslighting: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-h...-idUSKBN28Q36G https://www.google.com/search?q=curr...hrome&ie=UTF-8 Wuhan's been up and running for quite some time now. They've had (ready for this?) 20 new cases of infection since February. On that note, please, put the "the warehouse was hard hit" line to rest. The Asian community are some of the hardest working, indomitable folks you can come across. To say that they wouldn't be back in force after all this time is a hard pill to swallow. "People can go to Facebook..." For what? I didn't pledge on Facebook. Plus, people noted on the campaign comments page that when they reach out to Solomon on Facebook, they're blocked. Granted, they probably came out of face...but are they wrong? It's going on FIVE YEARS that someone else has my money. I completely understand their frustration. The arrogance to make it seem as though you don't owe your investors feedback on what's what is the offputting part. In January it was noted that a "meeting with the warehouse" was happening. Did anything come of that meeting? Was a timeline given? Did they say "Hey Solomon, fuck off!"...Yeah, I wouldn't want to share bad news either, but that's part of the package when you put your hand out and ask for someone to help your dream come true. We're now invested in that dream. For those that keep defending Solomon and the situation - Good on you. Regardless of circumstance, I applaud anyone that watches their friend's back through thick & thin. I just hope that behind the scenes, away from watchful eyes, everyone that's defending is also asking WTF because now "you" are being lumped in with the same crowd under the same sentiment. Sure, you may shrug, that's your absolute right to...but don't you think for a NY minute that me or any other of the backers that are waiting for a return on our investment are going to just be quiet just because Solomon doesn't want to be bothered. I wish I could say I was wrong...but with no updates or commentary to the contrary, let alone product shots that aren't 1+ years old, who are backers to believe? Solomon's friends? Last point - To keep asking "why is this being brought up now?" I dunno, maybe because IT'S GOING ON FIVE YEARS.
So yeah, tl;dr - Someone take Ozzie's post above back to 2016 so that I can read it, take it to heart, apologize to the people that I bickered with over someone I didn't know and most importantly, keep my fucking money in my pocket. Don't want people to think you're shady? Then prove them wrong with something of substance rather than the same old pattern of: - receive complaint from frustrated backer(s) - respond with your own frustration, because HOW DARE YOU DOUBT ME? - continue to offer no solution/resolution/update - rinse - repeat |

I didn't back this one - not because of the creator or anything like that. I didn't know anything about him.
I just wasn't sold on the sculpts off the bat - mostly the legs, something bothers me. But I was planning on getting some when they were released after seeing how they compared to Joes. That being said, I feel like when a creator doesn't keep in contact or keep updating ON Kickstarter (not facebook) it really sucks and is a dick move and I wouldn't back a creator who behaved that way. The attitude of the creator goes a long way towards getting my money. With Eagle Force - even though they took 4 years, I feel like they were great at being up front and kept the process transparent. I'll be happy to give them my cash again. I was also burned by that crypto toys guy... and while I feel like he intended to actually make the toys at the start before getting in over his head - his complete lack of communication makes him appear to have abandoned the project and pocketed whatever he could when he realized he couldn't come through and make a profit... and I feel like alot of people are probably worrying about the same thing here. |

I've heard many times, even before these recent posts started taking place that this kickstarter was not going so well because of lack of communication and lack of transparency. I've never really been into passing out hundreds of dollars to something that I may never see come to fruition. I would much rather know that the product is out and available and then I'll purchase it. And with the way how peopke are saying that this kickstarter is going just proves that I made the right decision not backing.
I've known Itch for some time and he's not just going to bash a kickstarter for the sake of bashing a kickstarter. He's a man with alot of patience. So when I see that he's upset about a kickstarter I believe that someone fucked up. |

Anybody try comparing these to what Joy Toy is doing with their space soldiers (Battle for the Stars)? It's like, why even bother? Game over. Even if Hell Screamerz comes out, who is going to think they were worth the wait? They were borderline amateur designs in 2016 and in 2021, they are dollar store tier. Obsolete.
By the way, factory production and material prices rise significantly year over year. So this can't be strung out indefinitely. Eventually, it will cost far more than he collected to actually deliver these. Last edited by SmokePants; 03-27-2021 at 04:03 PM.. |

I didn't realize it's been over 4 years since this KS too. Yikes, I may have dodged one here as I was considering a pledge.
