This is also a complaint I've raised with Eagle Force...the boxes are great, but what am I going to do with them? I'd rather have a polybag option. Even though I'm not personally all that interested in this particular Kickstarter, I would argue for a polybag option out of principle.

Yes, we have considered it. At the end, it's all part of the presentation. The Buck-A-Roos and Boot Hill Loot (accs sets) will be bagged with a header card.
The problem comes with presentation and shipping. The cards help protect the figures better than any bag in transit. If the card art and design are good, many collectors prefer to keep them that way (not me personally). If these are going to going into some of the markets we have planned, they'll have to be packaged traditionally, and finally it won't cut costs at retail. I figure that if you are paying the same price, you would opt for carded at any rate. That being said, I'll still look into it. |

This is just me thinking out loud...
What would be cool is if there was a way to make the cardbacks into a western backdrop... like a storefront, or corral picket fence, or mine shaft. Like on the back, make it a diorama piece that you have to get all the figures in order to complete the diorama. A gimmick that would make more people buy them all. I can tell you I'd display them opened in front of a backdrop.

Xero- That's a thought. Worth looking into.
Regarding the costs to card vs. costs to bag with a header, the difference is pennies. Our print run is only 3000 per figure (or in the area) so the cost really doesn't outweigh the benefits in this case. |

So I know I am a little late to the party on this but here is my thoughts on all of this:
1. First and foremost...I remember going back to the Kickstarter phase of HACKS and begging that one of the upcoming themes they did would be old west....so when this was announced from Chicken Fried Toys....I was extremely excited. 2. This is not one person...this is not even 2 people....there were a lot of other people who had a hand in this upcoming Kickstarter and it is their reputations on the line....I have strong faith and confidence that if it is funded that we are definitely going to get figures....quality figures....figures that will make us want more figures and these figures are going to be amazing just like the other 1:18 Kickstarter figures that have come out. 3. I too have dealt with Mr. Russell and he actually provided me with my favorite custom of all time (the dress blue marine gung ho)....did it take a while.....yes....was it worth it....yes....was I a little worried for a while....yes........did this have anything to do with anything.....no. 4. Shouldn't we have Chicken Flavored Toys instead? And if KFC can shorten their name....can we just call their company CFT? 5. I know it may seem like a gamble...but I truly and honestly believe that by summer of 2018 that we will have Spartans, Knights, an Elite military unit, Cowboys and a Master of Disguise teaming up to battle gorgons, orcs, zombies, and more. This post probably didn't mean much....but I do know that this is going to be my only chance at ever getting a chance of seeing this come through....better to take a chance than to say what might have been. |
