Meaning Universal probably wanted too much money for Hasbro to justify to keep making toys without a movie to support them. Keep in mind that the next Jurassic Park/World film doesn't see release until 2018 And if you think Mattel is going to do a heck of a lot different than what Hasbro did...you're fooling yourselves.

Yes.

Actually, Hasbro stated that Jurassic World was a $100 million property for them (which is more than GI Joe generated WITH A DAMN MOVIE). Hasbro and Universal could not come to amicable terms for continuing the license.

Hasbro was unable to assure them of a better showing (due to the current strain of their production facilities) and the rest is history. And rather than shooting Mattel (or anyone else who might get the license) down, wait and see what happens first.

Actually, Paramount was not pleased with Hasbro's showing for last year's big JP return.

And I wasn't shooting Mattel down, I was stating that I don't expect Mattel to produce a product line that is drastically different than what Hasbro produced for the brand last year.

Calling BS. The Club is going to be here for another 2 years, so it's not the death of the line. We're getting the cinematic universe and a toy line would be a given.

But for the record, since you don't understand what I am saying, I never said there wasn't a two year extension for the club. That became common knowledge to the public at Joe Con. This year is the end of Joe as we know it in terms of Hasbro. The cinematic universe is absolutely coming. But something very different. In fact so different, if known to the community, membership would drop to one/fifth of it's current status. I have been working to stop at least some of that from happening by convincing the powers to be to invest in a 6in collector focused line, because I don't want to see the community become a distant memory.

A cryptic "yes" from a random guy on the internet claiming to be "in the know." That's always info to bank on! Let's all just believe him, guys.
Anyway, we thought this was the last year of the Club, and then at the last second two more years were confirmed. We thought Hasbro was done with GI Joe, but *poof* we magically have another wave coming out soon. Who knows what may happen next, if anything? Quote:
Call it whatever you want to call it. Your opinion is irrelevant to me.

GIJOE is going to enter the realm of Fast and Furious MASK, Alien Dire Wraiths, Visionaries with holographic abilities, 4 inch tall Micronauts and eventually giant talking alien robots.
It is (probably) going to adapt in a major way with weapons designed to combat all these new threats. My supposition is that GIJOE is going to embrace its more superheroic aspects and science fiction. Paranormal teams, Alien researchers, lasers, IDW Revolution has already said they will be using lasers for weapons, but then again that could be the last bastion of ARAH. It makes sense. Steer away from the militaristic elements, build stories based on the classic good vs evil hero vs villain paradigm. I don't think Saboteur is far off in his thinking or hinting. But Saboteur, we cannot take your word for it, even if true. we need hard facts, pics, links, Hasbro press releases, etc. Sadly there are glory hounds and charlatans aplenty on the web who have made people very cautious in what they take as gospel. You could tell me if I am hot or cold though...

It either doesn't take much to please you guys or you really do not comprehend what's happening. Beyond 2016, with regards to Hasbro and retail, G I Joe ARAH is done. 3 3/4 Joe is done. Now there is something coming and it is in fact called G I Joe, but it is vastly different than what brought you back to Joe and here on Hisstank. One more year of last minute product rushed out as a store exclusive does not equate years of more product that your hoping for. And if you're excited about an FSS club who's future is all of two years long, with 25 anniversary era sculpts of obscure characters at $35 each, then, hey, knock yourself out. In the meantime, this "random guy" is working to get product on shelves--product you want that is made for YOU--in ALL stores. Because if not, what's left of this community will dwindle even further to almost non existent numbers. Quote:

But obviously, I can't disclose that information. That well would dry up for me if I did. And some would would lose their jobs as well as likely being in hot water from a legal standpoint. You are one of the few exceptions to the rule though. You seem to understand what is going on.

Actually, rather than be so condescending, maybe you yourself should understand that many know the brand is going to change...and some don't fear it. This is a hobby, not Geo-Political warfare. Whether or not the playthings I grew up with remain the same or not is irrelevant; The fact that I support the brand will keep this as one of my favorite pass times, regardless of what doom and gloom you claim that is ready to befall us.
