So much for not being so compulsive. That really changes things. I guess everything is back to order now, huh? Tired old snarky comments does not detract from anything I've said. Nor does it change their status as fact. This time, it really is the death. Not a line of toys. But what YOU know as Joe.

You ever stop to think that its bottom-feeders like Boss Fight, Fresh Monkey and Marauders that are responsible for the state Hasbro is in? There's only so long you can have these third party jokers eating into your business before you have to take down your sign.

Rising wages in China, the loss of factories, transitioning to a media enterprise and the lack of success with films like G I Joe and Jem are why things are in the state they are.

I would say that Boss Fight, Fresh Monkey, Marauders & all other third party manufacturers are filling the void that Hasbro can't or won't. Hasbro should have to impress us just the same as the third party folks do to get our expendable income. We don't owe it to Hasbro to not support the other manufacturers while Hasbro figures itself out.

Hasbro is trying to drum up interest in G.I. Joe by lumping it with other misfist brands that the general consumer doesn't give a shit about and making a movie about it. 2018 is the earliest they can pump out the first movie of the "Hasbro Cinematic Universe". Joe as we know it is dead. Whatever emerges in 2018 will be JINO (Joe in Name Only). It will bare very little resemblance to ARAH. |

...and I'm not privy to what state Hasbro is in. I'll leave it to others to say. But if Hasbro's in a sorry state, I'm not sure it's anybody's fault but Hasbro's |

If it's the end of GI Joe I enjoyed the rebirth in collecting with the new mold figures and re-release of some of the older vehicles over the past 8 years. I will buy what I want from this years releases and whatever is released in the future.
I haven't bought any of the Maurauders characters although they do look impressive. I may end up buying a few down the road. I am not a toy expert by any means but it seems that Lego is really the only toy from when I was a kid that has been successful and enjoyed longevity. The Ninja Turtles and Transformers do also seem to have had a decent resurgence. I think alot of GI Joes failure really lies with the mediocre movies that were released when compared to Transformers and TMNT (I only saw the 1st GI Joe movie and was real disappointed, I have never seen transformers or tmnt so just basing this off assumptions). I am interested to see how they rebrand GI Joe. Personally I would like to see a return to the 3 3/4 o-ring but I know that is highly unlikely. In the next re imagination of GI Joe in the Hasrbo Cinematic Universe I do hope they keep figures in the 3 3/4 or 4" scale if they release them at all. |
