Wow,im really impressed with that lineup. I don't really like the Roadblock, but I can see TF Flint being the rarest 25th Joe ever released.

I can't stress enough that the creation of the tooling for these figures takes alot of time. Let me stress that again. Having worked in the injection molding industry for 5 years, including a facility that creates the tooling (from the concept to engineering to the actual cutting of the steel to running the test shots, color testing, stress testing etc...) I can tell you that the rate that these figures are coming out is very fast and Hasbro must be freaking out trying to figure out what to do to meet OUR demands. Give them some time to catch up to the renewed phenomenon of GI Joe. And just for perspective remember when we use to get 1 wave per year? (say 1983 for example with a whopping 16 figures. 3 of which were repaints) AND we should be thankful that the Hasbro Design Team designs repaints that are relevant to the show or comics. They could be feeding us Jungle Net Attack Duke, or Night Swing Rope Flint. Look at the Batman Dark Knight figures. |

I'm just hoping that this doesn't end up like Star Wars in 97... So much demand for about a year and a half and then a glut of pegwarmers... Sure hope there is a good formula to avoid that disaster... Any math gods here? |

that's 21.5 figures new characters in the first 1/2 of the year. that's really not to bad. *counting IG Destro, SE v4 and Armoured CC as .5 because they're completely new molds of existing characters. **and i'd probably count Fred and Scarface as 'new' since they're specific characters even though they're 'troop builder' bodies edit: Quote:

Hey that Snake Eyes comes from an awesome issue, now we need Kwinn. Didn't know they would make that Snake Eyes at all! I did not see that coming.
Its a relevant version from a climactic, relevant issue. He also has more accessories than he needs, and this works in this case. I wonder if there is a place to store his swords. This destroys the comic pack parka Snake Eyes from years back completely. No comparison. Flint is different enough from the wave 1 version I have for me to buy. Kick ass. He finally has more elbow movement and he looks significantly different. Roadblock's description is CHOCK FULL OF WIN. I will get Bludd and the Python trooper. I won't buy box one is good enough for me, which I already have) and Baroness, unless Baroness has a crotch fix. I dig the color scheme though. Also folks, each wave will not be comprised of completely new figures. Expect parts reuse in every wave, and at least a few repaints. Any army builder is a given for repaints in the future. Think about how the Star Wars line is being treated, and expect something similar. |

yeah what do you think the chances are of us getting the Falcon and Viper gliders? I know they would break easy but man did they ever rock. The best part is they worked! It would be a reason to release a Grunt. Plus Grunt would take very little effort on their part. Hawk body w/Flash's head and Duke's helmet. A paint change here and there and there you go. It is right up Hasbro's ally

Look at the Batman Dark Knight figures. A couple of things. Without extremes, you can have no "intermediary" position. Ya saavy? While I also will be buying these rush-jobs in Wave 8, I just bring to light the disatisfaction that a majority have with them. ( or a good amount of us anyway) Now, the reason I quoted the Injection mold guy is I wanna remind you that Hasbro makes 600,000 dollars a minute. While you read this, they made enough to buy a small country. Believing that they couldn't hire or outsource a company to drum up 75 figures and mold in under 6 months is foolish. It's Hasbro. It's like the COKE of the toy world. Please stop making excuses. I am simply stating the facts and calling it out on the carpet cut and dry. That's what this world is about and I'm sorry if my abruptness offends. I just hate to see some of you sit back with a "let's just be happy we got anything at all" attitude and then go spend $200 a month on the new crap while the HASBRO CEO drives away in his Brand New 2009 Lamborghini that I assure you will not be a "repaint" from 2008. Tell me this, who wouldn't love to see a 25th Ann. TeleViper instead of a 10th Cobra Commander. I mean come on. Sure I'll be the resident Bastage but I know I am speaking whats on alot of peoples minds. It's to bad I love GI Joe so dam much or I'd stop buying it. Dam you Has-Cracks-bro! and your Plastic toys! |
