No Air Raiders? C'mon, there is more barrel to scrape, Hasbro!
This is too much like a kid emptying his closet and playing with everything. Fun for the kid, but a huge mess for everyone else. And if they steal that as a framing device for this universe, a la the Lego Movie, it will be absolute garbage. Cross market in merchandise, whatever, just let the stories stand alone. The only thing that I can think would make sense is if Hasbro were about to put the GI Joe banner across all of its in-house boys brands. Not so much that the characters would mix on screen, but a thin chain of connections in their stories that supports Hasbro's action figure brands under the GI Joe brand. Hasbro is trying to build up their in-house brands in the event Disney takes the Star Wars & Marvel liscences away. |

I dunno about MASK, but if Hasbro wants to tie GI JOE and TRANSFORMERS together, I've got something buried under The Pit that might help.

I have read so much negative stuff about this that it literally hurts my brain. From a toy point of view Micronauts and Rom were flops. Visionaires was a flop as a toy and a cartoon!
M.A.S.K. was cool but never on the same level as GI Joe. Of course the biggest question for me has nothing to do with movies...What scale will the toys be in? Mask and Micronauts were small. Visionaries were about the same size as modern Joes...I still have a few figures...ROM was apparently a giant waste of plastic! |

I thought Air Raiders was sweet!
Which is a shame, because StarCom was a freakin' awesome line. |

I kind of get the impression that MASK and COPS are getting (sort of) rolled into one property, based on the brief description of MASK that came in that UNIT-E comic.
Air Raiders and StarCom were both solid lines with a pretty cool gimmick behind each, the only problem with Air Raiders being their gimmick tended to break easily, and StarCom was expensive. Which is a shame, because StarCom was a freakin' awesome line. |

Sadly, Mattel owns Starcom, and you can bet they won't do anything with it.

I would love to see G.I. Joe and the Transformers have a shared universe, but from what I've seen, it looks like they are keeping Transformers a separate property.
