I don't think they exist anymore.

The second trailer for Jem looks a little better than the first. Still tailored for a modern audience but things that people thought were missing like Synergy are indeed in the movie. Chu hamstringed as he was, did a great job with Retaliation with what he was given. He had to try to build a GIJOE movie that was not a reboot of the (awful in my opinion) first movie and around the Rock, which would be hard for anyone to do. I give him credit for trying. It is too bad he could not bring some LXD elements into the film. Not the dancing, the choreography, lighting, and mood. We did get many elements of issue 21, condensed in eleven minute form.

In the current political environment, I can see how a children's cartoon including a subversive terrorist organization would not be welcome, either from one end that just doesn't think it's PC, or the other that doesn't want our soldiers and struggle with terrorists being mocked. So I get that. I'd like to see, perhaps a more adult oriented animated series, but also have a GIJoe Adventure Team series that leans back on the older toy line's themes. Still focused on the modern era 4" figures, but with rescue and exploration themes. There could still be some bad guy aspect as well, but more like over the top Bond villains. The cartoon could be similar in a way to RescueBots, but aimed at the older 6-12 y/o market.

Cobra in the Sunbow cartoon were over-the-top Bond villains in every sense. Is Spectre called a terrorist organization? The whole "terrorist" term is nothing but semantics anyway. Cobra is what you say they should be, no matter what label is on them. I don't think they ever hijacked a plane, which was the main terrorism worry in the '80s. But of course in modern superhero movies like Iron Man and Batman plane hijackings happen. And Tony Stark fought Taliban-like terrorists. So I don't get whose head is going to explode if G.I. Joe fights terrorists.

Not saying I don't agree with you, just that that is probably a huge driving factor in why there's not an old school GIJoe military cartoon. In a country where the Dukes of Hazzard are considered racists, and terrorist attacks get dismissed as workplace violence... "kids military" just isn't kosher. I would still like to see an AT cartoon and toyline though, still giving references to the ARAH characters on occasion, whether or not there is an actual GIJoe/Cobra cartoon. |

Play-Doh the Movie: 2 hours of clay being squirted through different shapes and the hardships they face with being covered in hair after dropping on the carpet.
Count me in.

GI Joe is entirely workable in today's environment...but not the ways fans WANT it to be. Again, the line was quite successful in the mid-2000s by styling itself in more a superhero angle (blatantly so with Sigma 6), rather than the hard military fans say they want.

Uncinematic is a good word. These movies, to me at least, feel like they were made in a factory. They feel like they were made by focus groups and executives. There's no love or care in the filmmaking and there's definitely no love for the fans.
