Here is a zero-waste method of combining a HACKS torso with a Marauder Task Force waist and legs, all without green stuff, hot glue, or any other waist filler or adhesive.
The basic idea is simple. You crack open the MTF waist and remove the entire torso/hip peg piece and carve out a notch in the front and back halves of the waist. That notch should be as wide as the ring in the HACKS torso/hip peg piece, and a depth of half of the thickness of the ring in the HACKS torso/hip peg piece. Here is an inside shot of the carved-out waist. You can see I also shaved a little bit of the love handles off on the sides of the torso to taper the torso into the waist. There is a small bit of "plumber's crack" as usual, but overall it's a good fit. When you glue everything back together just make sure you glue the torso/hip peg piece down as low into the waist as possible so you can get proper sitting position from your figure. The only real problem is that the hip peg balls on the HACKS piece are too small so the MTF legs wobble around pretty badly. You will need to fill the MTF sockets or build up the HACKS peg balls. I posted this in the custom parts need/have thread as well but it was promptly buried so I am going to post it here as well... If I fashion a combination peg piece to use the main MTF peg, but modified with a HACKS torso cup on top in place of the ball, could someone here cast it and send some copies to me? It would make kitbashing as easy as cracking an MTF waist and popping the custom peg in place of the standard peg. It would be the adapter we've all been waiting for, and I don't mind chopping up some pieces to make the template, but I'd like to know that I will be able to get a usable replacement so I haven't wasted critical parts out of $40 worth of figures.

Let’s petition MJ again for some bare torsos or at least some tank top torsos. This isn’t a new request, he’s GOT to know we “need” ‘em.

I thought that I heard him say to someone at JoeCon that one was coming in the Vietnam Kickstarter so that you could have a bare chested guy with a vest (a la Gung-Ho).

That would be sweet, two of my biggest things I've pestered him on were bare arms and torsos, and asian heads (which we got Japanese in the WWII kickstarter) and now hopefully some good NVA and Viet Cong bad guys. Time to create a Chuck Norris custom and MIA camp rescue scene! Or Rambo....lol.

Is this true? Did anyone else hear this? This would be great because I would do Steamroller and Wild Card customs. It would probably mean waiting another year for the Kickstarter though.

So is there no interest in this now for the next two years while people wait for the Vietnam MTF Kickstarter? Or for kitbashing something other than bare HACKS chests (Zombie Labs stuff or any of the upcoming sci-fi parts)? Or for kitbashing female torsos?
I know it might sound snarky but I'm actually just asking honestly. Bare male chests aren't the only thing you might want from HACKS, but if that's 99% of the demand then this won't be worth doing.

My follow-up questions are to determine whether or not people actually feel that way and, if so, whether they are overlooking options beyond the bare male chest that might still make an adapter useful OR if there is simply no community desire to kitbash anything onto MTF waists other than bare male torsos. If nobody cares I'm fine with dropping it but I wanted to clarify and gauge interest first to make sure.

In one response to my original question of whether someone would step up to cast copies if I build a HACKS-to-MTF adapter torso peg it was said that MTF will be doing a bare male torso in their 'Nam KS, which implies that there would be no need for an adapter (unless I am misunderstanding the purpose of the reply). Other posts after that showed interest in the MTF chest and paid no attention to the idea of an adapter (which is fine, don't get me wrong). So whereas I thought this would be greeted with enthusiasm, it's been pretty uninteresting to people as far as I can tell.

Zap, I think it's a great idea. Even when Marauder has other torsos the ability to still mod or use other lines with MTF is great. I'm just not much of a custom maker, and the easier the better, so it would be cool, even if/when MTF makes bare torsos. Sadly I am not a caster though either.
