Excellent stuff! Really bringing everything to life! That John Wayne head is a surprise! Was thinking it was more like Falcon from the drawings but now I might need 2 lol. Looking forward to when they reveal the Viet Cong female!

Not gonna lie- I don't like it. I only ordered the Green Beret, and based on the mock-up, though they would be invoking Falcon. I mean, not a big deal, I can change a head, just not what I was expecting.

Some observations from this Update:

1. This is not a critique, it's actually something I expected, but with the KS 2D drawings, some of the American uniforms were drawn slightly different. For example, the US Army Rifleman, Marine Rifleman, Navy Seal, & LRRP/Green Beret had slightly different designed shirts. From the 3D model of the Army Rifleman and Green Beret, it looks like they will be using the same torso. Again, not a critique just an observation. Not shown are 3D models of the Marine or Navy Seal. The LRRP & Green Beret in the 2D drawings seem to use the same torso already. Honestly, I didn't figure they would design and mold 4 different US shirt torsos - maybe 2 (Army & Marine). I'll be surprised if they offer a torso with the collar buttoned to the top (Navy Seal).

2. The Army and Marine calves/boots appear to be different sculpts/designs in the 3D model. The thighs are the same. This is consistent with the original 2D drawings. I'm kind of surprised by this, but happy to see the variation in calves. For those who are not backers (and MJ asked us not to share the pics) and haven't seen the updated 3D pics, the Army calves are slightly bloused ABOVE the top of the boots (man I wish the Green Beret had the black/green boots!) while the Marine calves blouse and droop slightly over the boots. The Marine calves remind me a bit of the WW2 German Panzer calves. Hopefully this variation makes it to the sculpting phase.

3. Yes! The Green Beret 3D model looks even more like the Duke than the 2D drawing implied, and the Marine M60 Gunner, to me, looks a lot like Anthony Mackie.

4. Speaking of the M60 Gunner. The 3D pic is with the flak vest on. So, no 3D reference of what a shirtless Marauder figure will look like, but the bare arms look more in the style of BFS HACKS in sculpting. So, muscular, but not too muscular.

5. On the VC figures, MJ said they will be slightly shorter.

6. The VC black pajama figure 3D model shows the arms with 3/4 rolled sleeves while the 2D drawing shows long sleeves; however, the original schematic/reference photos shows both sleeves. I remember MJ saying that several figures will come with both long and 3/4 sleeves.

7. Only the VC black pajamas with the SKS is pictured. So, no 3D model of the RPG backpack.

8. There is definitely a variation to the 3D model head sculpts of the VC and NVA figures. With the 3D model of the NVA figure, you do get a glimpse at the grenade bag, although it's hard to tell if the grenades are molded or removeable.

9. The machete sheath on the Green Beret looks loooong! I hope they shorten it up just a bit. The 2D drawing shows it hanging just above the knees, but the 3D model extends it slightly below the knees.

10. The wrist watch is suspiciously missing from the Marine M60 3D model. Hopefully this is just an oversight.

Now, on another note, I'm not sure how hard it is to produce these 3D models or how long they've been sitting on them; but I really hope they offer another update later in Feb with (at least) more 3D models of the various figures.

I agree to a point. It's very character specific, but we are getting that with several Vietnam figures. The GB figure looks like John Wayne. The LRRP figure looks like Sgt. Elias (Defoe), one of the Seal (gunner?) looks like Sgt. Barnes (Berenger), the Tunnel Rat looks like Chris (Sheen) - all from Platoon.

But I'm with you that the GB figure will become my official MTF version of Falcon but using a different head sculpt.
