Yeah, it's not just Hasbro. McFarlane and all the "premium format" makers do 6-7" too. They wouldn't be doing that if it wasn't what an overwhelming majority of buyers have shown it's what they want. If anything, Hasbro followed those premium makers into that scale. The only one I can think of bucking the trend is Mattel, and that's with one line (Jurassic Park) because they apparently think it's the right scale for that line for both kids and adults, having seemingly dropped their "Amber Collection" 6" offerings.
There was a sort of "scale war" fought at retail a decade or so ago, with multiple companies offering 1:18 and 1:12 product (sometimes simultaneously for the same property), along with trying various other scales in between, below and above. 1:18 lost. Bandai's Thundercats was one offering both sizes, and guess which scale sales better on the secondary market today? It isn't 1:18. And many of us now forget that Hasbro was actually a late adopter of 1:12 and one of the last holdouts for 1:18. Remember all the people clamoring for 1:12 GI Joe before Classified, and the excitement from them when it was finally announced? It is what it is, that's all. Adults prefer 1:12 because our eyes are shitty, our fingers have all the dexterity of sausages and 1:12 is both something different (relative to the stuff we've been buying since childhood) and seems more "premium"/less like a toy. I say all this as someone who only collects 1:18 scale toys and doesn't care a single solitary fart for 6" toys. I think they're stupid, but reality is reality. But hey, I fully admit, maybe that's confirmation bias on my part. I only buy 1:18, so I didn't really care too much until most of my favorite brands started getting discontinued or undercut in favor of a scale jump. Regardless of "why", it's obviously a source of frustration to me now. I guess it's also worth pointing out that we don't seem to get as many of the oddball non-standard scales that we used to. I think more and more of those lines that would be non-standard are going 1:12, which is a good thing for the sake of compatibility, though it does sort of fuel the perception that 1:18 is getting left out, even if many of these lines would probably never have been 1:18 in the first place. In any event, thank goodness for folks like Marauder to help fill the void for us 1:18 devotees. They have rapidly become my favorite line these last few years. I don't really mind if they branch out further into 1:12 as long as they keep a good 1:18 presence going.

I thought about that, but what if I want to remove the part and re-use it somewhere else? Then the shortened peg would be a liability. I know, I'm hopeless.
I am aware Hasbro wasn't the first on board 1:12, and it has been a successful standard since at least the mid-to-late 90s (largely for wrestling and some superhero/video game lines). That said, I feel like 1:12 didn't really become "the big thing" it is until Hasbro started focusing on it, at which point many of the stragglers decided it was time to come on board, and many new companies started up to jump on the bandwagon. But hey, I fully admit, maybe that's confirmation bias on my part. I only buy 1:18, so I didn't really care too much until most of my favorite brands started getting discontinued or undercut in favor of a scale jump. I hear ya, and I'm in the same boat as you, but maybe just a few oars ahead. I went through my own frustration at 1:12 becoming seemingly the de facto "preferred" scale a few years ago when I saw 1:18 disappearing from shelves. It was weird to see 1:18 make an apparent comeback in the late-2000s/early-2010s, only to then see it all but disappear in a few short years. There were all these 1:18 scale lines again (GI Joe, Star Wars, MU, DC Infinite and Multiverse Arkham Batman, MIB, Thundercats...even Assassins' Creed and Mortal Kombat...and more that I can't think of). Now it's just (besides Reaction and Star Wars & Marvel Retro) five 1:18 lines if IIRC: Star Wars TVC, Spin Masters DC stuff, Jurassic World/Park, Fortnite and Halo. And you know, that actually ain't too bad when you count them up. 1:18 ain't dead, it just isn't what it once was.
More back on topic, Marauder got restocked on the M16/M203 and XM177 carbine. They are showing on the front page, but aren't showing up in the "NEW Releases and Restocks" category (yet). Get 'em while they're hot, as they tend to sell quick.

Guess I'll extend my "hope" to seeing an update by the end of January. Surely, they at least have some 3-D digital images they could release. Jason |

I think what still seems amazing to me is how quickly the HissTank fandom seemingly turned to 6 inch fans. I remember the New Sculpt days, 25th, and the end of the ME with the TRU line there really has never been a vocal part of the fandom clamoring for 6 inch figures. Then Hasbro made them and you would think that?s the only Joe scale worth existing by reading some of the post on here. I?ve always wished we could have both, but I?ve had people on here tell me there?s no way Hasbro would make a super articulated 1/18th Joe and that 6 inch is all that makes sense financially?the turn was so quick to almost anti 1/18 that my head was spinning lol. I once said that if Classified would have been 4 inch fans would have loved it just the same and got laughed out of the conversation. I still think Joe fans would readily and enthusiastically buy a good 4 inch Hasbro line, but it may be years before that ever happens again.

The ONLY reason I started buying the 1:12 line is I have known about Marauder 1:12 plans for a while. I did not want to have to pay crazy prices later down the line when I MTF 1:12 figures became a reality and I wanted some "Official Joes" too...Had MJ not clued me in - I would be still a 1:18 scale only collector - 100% FOMO

Yep - seems to be room for both on my shelves now.
