Yeah - I guess I am a Marauder Insider. I am Marauder Matt, I have been in the booth the last couple JoeFests and do much of the prototype painting. When John decided he wanted to push the spec op camo onto other parts besides the original KS stuff, he asked me to give it a go. And I believe I pulled it off really well. I painted all the WWII weapon prototypes and took a stab at the German KS exclusive camo and was slated to paint the Nam KS proto figures. We chat every week via phone and more often via text.
I understand your idea on the pegs, but there are multiple issues. 1st that would require 2 pieces per peg and then factory assembly of said pieces - all current product peg would have to be molded with a different peg and then a 2nd part (which would likely all be the same for everything) would need to be created that fit on the new peg to create the mushroom part. In automobile world those 2 parts are big enough, but at the 1:18 scale they would be tiny and likely they would not function as designed, i would expect a lot of breakage. Then you have the problem that you would need to make all the holes in the bodies inverted mushroom shape to allow the peg to work and all vests and gear would push off the body when the mushroom part is attached. All of these in use on cars have a hole with nothing behind it so the mushroom part has space to occupy. The current set up is friction fit and works rather well. Most people dry fit until they are happy then glue them on permanently. The 1:12 head comment was news to me - so I cannot give you more on that, sorry. I also wanted to note to everyone that to me it is an honor to have my position and will not divulge things John has not himself released and no I don't get an employee discount or special order handling. :p I do have a ton of extra parts from all my KS orders and try to help folks get parts when waiting for restocks, but if you visit the customizer parts needs thread - you will see as a customizer, I have amassed WAY TOO MANY parts and help out on all sorts of parts needs, not just MTF. I appreciate the intel. I'm a newbie just trying to learn what's available, so no idea what info was already revealed or not. Just hungry to see what's coming. |

I only recently became aware of Saturday Geared Up offerings. What time does that usually become available? Is that every Saturday?

MGR had kits for the Dollar General Joe figures that included a pistol, knife, and a grenade to fill the holster and leg sheath. They used these pistols.
