I haven't had a chance to back the Kickstarter yet because I'm waiting on multiple refunds from different sites and a big portion of my spending money is tied up in those. Sadly this probably mean the number of figures I had planned on ordering is going to be decreased.
But waiting until the last second accomplishes *n*o*t*h*i*n*g* except risks an item not unlocking or you forgetting to pledge at all. |

The issue for me with any unrevealed Stretch Goals now is at the unlocked funding prices, it would not be enough to simply offer any existing sculpts in a different color scheme or camo pattern. For example, I would guess that the Stretch Goal after the Female VC would merit approx. $329k in funding (additional $19k from Female VC). To me, that seems like a significant price gap just to get an existing mold in a new color.
So, I hope that whether they offer any new color/camo paint schemes in the Kickstarter, MJ offers some of these body sculpts in their store in various solid colors (tan, black, etc.) and camo patterns (giraffe, ERDL). Jason Maybe their data showed that people didn't really buy all those figures and it was a waste to have 3-4 of the same figures offered But like you said, they could definitely offer more color options for the already unlocked sculpts at smaller gaps between. I'm starting to lean towards ordering less figures from the KS and waiting till they have the options I want on their site I kinda think Marauders is looking to cash in more profit this time - and that's their right. |

One disadvantage to the current structure is that I'm not going to buy too many of one figure because they will all have the same skin tone and head. Knowing that they'll offer a variety of skin tones in the store gives me less incentive to buy more of one type now. I understand that they want to minimize variety for convenience but think of how many more figures one might purchase now if they could get each figure in every skin tone. I plan to build a 12-man team of Special Forces, but I don't want 6 light skin and 6 dark skin knowing that I can build a more diverse unit later. I'm just wondering how much convenience is gained versus the loss of additional funding now or does it even matter.

Exactly and it's not just the skin tones. If they offered another Army soldier with the M60, I'd buy a few of those to complete a rifle squad. If they offered one with the radio, I'd buy a few of those to make an RTO and Forward Observer. If they gave one a medical bag and related gear, I'd buy a few to use as medics. And they could do they same thing with the Marines, the LRRPs, Special Forces, SEALS, NVA, etc. Granted I plan to swap some accessories from different units to make these different positions, but I don't want to buy 10 Special Forces radiomen just to use the radios for other RTOs only to be left with 10 identical-looking Special Forces figures to make up the rest of my SF detachment.

It's always much easier to piece together what you want from the store than from the Kickstarters. You're just risking how many of each variant he gets in stock and even longer delays to get the items.

Yeah, it was a moot point in the WWII KS, but I definitely learned my lesson after getting two dozen white boy Contract and Agency-Ops in the K9/EXO KS.
This time around, I plan on selling about a dozen white US Army and Marines from my Mayhem pledge before MGR stocks their site. Folks who didn't pledge will pay a premium to get the product ahead of the restock and I'll parlay that into getting the alternate skin-tone and sleeve variations I want once things go live. |

I'm astounded that we are only 7k away from Shipwreck/Topside. The variety in this KS is astounding. I'm going to have a hell of a time choosing for a mayhem package.

I agree, the more we get the harder it will be to just stick in my Mayhem level...lol. Worse problems to have I suppose.
