If you think GI Joe is a fan collector driven brand, I cannot imagine what MASK would be... whom else but us die hard 80s collectors even know what MASK is?

I'm fine with them inventing new vehicles for the line, but don't give me a vehicle called Thunderhawk that doesn't look and transform exactly like the original. If it doesn't look like the original, give it a new name.
Putting transforming robots into M.A.S.K., other than T-Bob, would absolutely ruin it. They already had Human Alliance in Transformers. If they want a line like that again do it in Transformers, but do it without M.A.S.K. characters. These iconic elements of the M.A.S.K. mythos need to be preserved as they were: M.A.S.K. vs. V.E.N.O.M. rivalry Transforming vehicles that are NOT robotic or intelligent or mech suits Removable masks that give the wearer a special power Check out this link: Top 15 Best Selling Toys in History - BlitzTop 15 Best Selling Toys in History - Blitz Granted, it's a couple of years old and seems based upon perception as much as numbers, but that's actually informative in and of itself. You'll notice even the supposed juggernaut Transformers only ranks 6, with G.I. Joe at number 7, and Star Wars at 13. MASK doesn't even rate. |

Exactly. We also apparently forget that the MASK play gimmick was new and novel back then, being a sort of Transformers/G.I. Joe mash-up, but it's old hat today with plenty of dual-mode toys hitting the shelves since then.

I'm very excited that M.A.S.K. and Action Man are both mentioned. Shame there's no Joe on there, maybe Hasbro will revamp Joe as an Action Man or M.A.S.K. sub-team ;)

(It probably won't...more attempts at new toy lines/franchises fail than succeed) Hasbro probably considers it a brand they can "get away" with heavily altering without as much fan uproar as others would endure. There'll be some, no doubt...but overall MASK fans aren't exactly a super-vocal segment on the interwebz. |

I can see things going either way as far as scale, but if Hasbro wants the toy line to exist longer on the toy shelves than it's prior incarnation, they will need some type of vehicle to sell it to the kids of today. |

Curious to see what Hasbro shows us here. If the line is 3 3/4, looks close to the vintage line and is executed well I'd jump in. Time will tell.
I'm a bit concerned that GI Joe was not on their little pyramid. I assumed Mark Weber was going to put Joe back on the map? Hey maybe since we got stuck with a Matt Trakker as part of the 25th GI joe line, we could get a nice 50th style Duke out of the MASK line?

Maybe with the return of M.AS.K., we may see the return of Sky Commanders?
Wishful thinking on my part but I can dream. |
