That's it. The extras are a cobra air Trooper that may be a repaint (or the same paint as before, with a gold cobra emblem, I can't tell), and the POC nightfox with new crappy no articulation ankles. Cool box though. This will be a total pass for me.

I'm still highly confused as to why a Pilot figure comes with a ground vehicle and then an Alley Viper is included in the Cobra jet.

Ground security for the Cobra jet? Granted the Air Trooper would make more sense to be included in the bigger set, but unfortunately that Cobra Skystriker is still a one seater :(

Ah so it is a one seater after all? Oh well, it's still a cool looking repaint. I'm not paying scalper prices for it but I'd happily pay retail if I can get one from HTS.com. I'd also buy the SDCC version of the Chuckles set for ten Dollars more but again only if I can get it from TRU.com at retail prices. These sets are nice but Not 3x the retail price nice. The box are is really cool though.

But I am passing on both versions of this set. I like the vehicle molds, but not the repaints. The solid red canopy on the basilisk bothers me. Foe striker I think would have been much better in classic green with black, not red cans. Chuckles looks to skinny, needs a bigger torso. |

I'll end up gettng this set. I need a ballisk to break up the monotony of all my Hiss tanks. I like the color scheme but like others have said the mold reuse is getting old. I wish they would dig deeper into the older vehicles - a desert fox vs.'Avalanche would of been a cool alternative to the awe striker vs. snowcat.
I'm going to avoid army building with the next wave and hope that the next movie fosters creativity within hasbro to create new vehicles or reach deeper into the well of molds for newer vehicles. |

I like the package art for the most part. The outer sleeve looks the best though. I don't quite understand why the package scenes with the figures and vehicles look like they are happening off world though. It's a little too sci- fi and other worldly.
Why would Hasbro think it's okay to invest in such extensive packaging, but not in the actual product inside? Have you ever heard a group of action figures collectors say 'I want great packaging instead of quality figures'? With that said, I would rather have had Night Fox made with double jointed knees and ankle articulation than fancy packaging. Three times Night Fox has been made in the modern era and all three times with no success. |

I think all of this looks good! I know its repaints, but the FOE striker is da bomb!! Hell of alot better than that piece of shit Retaliation version hasbro gave us. The snow cat repaint is very different and and unique color combination besides just black or red.
I think instead of the Snow cat, they should have brought back the Avalanche mold for Cobra!! Now that would have been bad ass!! Last edited by Laser Viper; 06-25-2015 at 04:05 PM.. |
