I have to be honest, this doesn't impress me much. I want it to be good and hopefully it will be. But right from the start, the graphics are dated. I don't expect them to be competing with the latest Call of Duty release, but they look 10 years old. The voice acting also appears to be incredibly sub-par. I dunno, we will see.
This is an RTS game, a genre I am a HUGE fan of, those games have to take a step back in terms of graphics in order to render a metric gigafuk of individual characters on the grid at once, which is why I like them. Its like an OCD army builders dream come true. Not only will I get this game, I may get an entire console just to play it depending on what all it is released on.

In the background of the screenshot with Flash in the MOBAT is Bazooka, some HAVOCs, and the Mobile Command Center on the left. Awesome, I'm in!

I liked the sound of the brand being mashed up against Masters of the Universe. But why there's some Nazi soldier speaking over the whole trailer is baffling. I don't remember any kids playing with Nazi toys back in the day. The female refugees from "Cloud Cuckoo Land" are an obvious rip-off of Lego Movie. And, again, the idea of Nazis fighting Jem dolls is not the way I ever played with toys.
units with Germans and Doughboy figures. this is just keeping the "toy soldiers" in the game and adding a new twist. |

More like Medieval and 'girls toys' factions. I'm with you in that I'm a huge RTS fan and that is may very well be the GI Joe game I've been waiting for years for. However, I'm still worried that COBRA might be sidelined, and if that happens then this game is a complete pass, and what a shame that would be.

I can track with the commentary on the voice acting, its not amazing. However comparing a game with purposely cartoony graphics with a CoD release is absurd. The differences between the two games do not even merit comparison. There is not enough common ground between the two for that to be an issue.
Are the graphics on this great? No. Do they fit with what the subject matter is based around, CHILDREN'S TOYS and fantasy? Yes. Quote:

Odd that it looks like other JOEs are in it. The video shows He-Man and then a bunch of Man-at-Arms-looking castle guards manning the equipment. I didn't see any of the other MOTU guys in there. Made me think it was just going to be Duke and a bunch of greenshirts for the equipment.

The great thing is, Ubisoft has made good games in the past, some of which I'm a big fan of. Hope this one turns out well, it has much potential.

Honestly the last game from Ubisoft I really enjoyed was "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" and that game rocked, so I'm fairly confident that they can publish a pretty good game, I'm just concerned that they'll focus only on the good guys from the different action figure franchises and leave the bad guys in the dust.
