I have watched both on Netflix, but I also own both dvd sets. I actually bought the sets before I had Netflix, so I am set.

This is why I still buy CDs, BluRays, and DVDs. Streaming services always seem to be dropping stuff or the companies that own the rights cut deals with another service. Fortunately I have both series on DVD, but I will miss the convenience of being able to pop to any episode I want or of being able to start up watching where I left off.

They had robotech on a few years ago. They took it off then brought it back. They had Farscape on back in 2010 but they took it off and haven't brought it back. They will bring it back after the next movie if it bring in big bucks.

This does not bother me. What really bother me is that yesterday while at Target I browsed through a magazine (Geek or Geek Out) that featured the 30 great fandoms of all time and Gi Joe was not even there. The Princess Bride was 30, TF was 22 (astonishingly behind Avatar (not the blue people one), Legend of Zelda was #11, Dr. Who #3, SW #2 and Star Trek #1. Of course it should not surprise me since it is a Geek magazine, but c'mon no mention of Gi Joe and TF behind Avatar? TF has 4 major blockbuster hits and millions upon millions of toy sales. The Avatar movie was a flop and toy sales are a fraction of TF or Gi Joe.

Even though I own the DVDs, I was watching on Netflix because of the convenience. But it's not a big deal. I setup a Plex server at home so all I need to do is rip my DVDs and I will have that convenience back.

I like streaming better than having stacks of discs. My boys and I have watched through Sunbow Joe and Renegades and some TF. We might need to run a marathon here during the holidays.
I will miss it... |
