Does anyone know why the waves are out of order? I?m waiting patiently for the Classics and Definitely Not Red Shadows to hit.

Eagle Force Classics is in production. Tooling has begun but will take time. We are expecting delivery of those figures next summer, although some figures, like the Bruno Bros, Blockhead and a few others will be ready for delivery early next year.

Eagle Force Wave 7 will go up for pre-order in August. This wave uses existing parts, so it will be delivering before Eagle Force Classics.

I just read in Facebook "Wow folks hate 5 POA figures. So here?s the deal I?d love to do o-ring or 1/18 but those costs are $$$$$ I?m not saying it won?t happen but it?s just was much $$ to do 1/12 scale which is where the market is at. We won?t do o-ring but 1/18th is possible. It?s looking like if I do these reaction style figures I might do a short run of 30 very limited for $50 each. They?ll be for uber fans who want something special and unique for their collection"
I'm not sure if there will be many Joe fans willing to pay $50 per Cops reaction figures... What do you think guys?

I wouldn't, but the price might be forgivable in principle if the production run is really that small. I think fans hate artificially inflated price tags more than they hate 5POA. For example, I don't feel ReAction has any excuse charging upwards of $20 for a 5POA figure, considering they're mass-market products. But for a legitimately limited run of niche collectables by an indie company? Again, I wouldn't, but in principle it seems...kinda fair, I suppose.
2 words......Licencing fees!

I'm only here for the articulated 1/18 figures, but I gotta respect Bill for his boundless creativity, his appetite for trying different form factors and his apparent ability to hit on winners.
When Longbox Heroes was revealed in that retro format, I just shook my head and asked why? But then I was shocked to see they were hitting on minimum order quantities of 1,000. So, what do I know? Not so much. Whether it's Boss Fight or Fresh Monkey now, gotta respect them pursuing stuff that interests them and where they can hit new markets. Bill emphasized that making other things is not about replacing 1/18, it's just about trying different form factors to see what people might like. At the end of the WOJM podcast, someone asked how does he go about prioritising between all the different lines he's got doing? His answer was that he likes to have a lot of spinning plates. Gets bored easily. Likes all kinds of scales/form factors. The other stuff is not going to be for everyone, but it's not trying to be. And it's hard to argue with success. Longbox Heroes' minimum order quantity at a 1,000 was double then triple Eagle Force's minimum. So, best way to look at it, I think, is the other stuff puts Fresh Monkey Fiction on a more solid footing to be able to keep the lower production run Eagle Force going. With Eagle Force only getting 300-500 units per item, it's pretty incredible how much product Bill is managing to put out there. Hopefully, more people can jump onboard. To my mind, Eagle Force is becoming the most impressive of the independent 1/18 toylines in its scope. Yet, it feels like a large part of the community is still sleeping on the line. Gotta get the word out. |

I’m a big fan of Boss Fights zombies. I’d love for them to make more of those but Eagle Force is definitely my preferred 1/18 line now that Hasbro has dropped the GI Joe ME line. Eagle Force is also just a really fun line. You’ve got superheroes, military, monsters, homages to different popular characters. It’s awesome.
