I had issues with the 25th Flint. I wasn't too bothered with the long sleeves. They just had crappy range of motion. We've gotten other short-sleeve Flints since then, so I don't feel this version needs them. I think the sculpt just looks sharper to me. The Hall Flint is great, so I don't think this Flint is an absolute must. But I think it's crazy to say he doesn't look great. Certainly that Beachhead isn't a larger "upgrade" than this Flint.

Some of the comments on this board reminded me of this:

It's cool that people like this Flint; the funny thing is, when the 25th line first started, people HATED the single-carded Flint that came out (with the sleeves on the forearms), and the boards were rife with complaints. I guess I'm more surprised than anything that a figure that looks just like that original 25th Flint is now drawing compliments from people.
I wouldn't raise a fuss, if it was something tougher to mend--but this one just seems sooo easy...is it so unreasonable to bring it up? Quote:
But, maybe some logistics with mold availability or convenience prompted sticking with what we’re getting. Don’t know.

Meh, I've never liked that Stone torso, or its gorilla arms or weird figure-8 shaped legs. The entire figure just looks lumpy with big sausage arms.
I haven't understood the fetish the fandom has for this Concept Vault Flint since he was first shown. Sure, the head and webgear look great, but the Firefly hip accessories are just weird, and I love that Firefly torso for Firefly (and I guess on the Club Steeler it worked) but for almost everyone else it's weird. It's a turtleneck, it doesn't look right under a rolled-up sleeve or short sleeves (like on Flint or that new Club Alpine, wtf?) and while the rolled sleeves look great, we have yet to see them used on a figure that really needs them. I'm surprised they aren't retooling that Firefly torso like Boss Fight did for the JoeCon Chef figure and reusing the shit out of it on a dozen or more figures that would be essentially repaints so long as they used that torso along with 100% otherwise existing molds. Take off the Turtleneck and use those arms and the SE legs, and that'd be a perfect Duke. Reuse those same torso/legs on Flint with just the Retaliation Flint arms (which are short-sleeved AND gloved!) and you have a perfect Flint. |

Also, beyond the turtleneck, I'm not sure what else this Flint brings to the table that hasn't already been done.
If they did it the way they did TF Duke, then I wouldn't have mind too much.

The main reason I want to replace my Flint some day...im just not sure if this one is IT yet. Especially if its a chase /SDCC deal to get the classic colors. |
