Coordinate the schedules of several people?
This is coming from someone who does that for a living? Who says that Shia or Mark or Megan or any of the TF crew (Josh D might be a nice tie in to NEST) even have to be in the possible TFJoe movie? Doesn't TF 4 have an all new cast. Last time I checked it did. A little different with GIJOE but not much. They have used most of the main leaders, Duke Hawk and Flint. Di Bonaventura needs to think outside that box. Think smaller. More intimate. It does not have to be an earth shattering end of life as we know it tale to be a good story. After saying all that, yes it will take time and effort, and seeds to be planted in both movies, but if they really wanted to, it could be done and done well. Both franchises could shine too. Imagine TWO movie posters, one saying GIJOE Autobot Trust and the other saying Transformers GIJOE NEST team. I guess all that could be moot though, we will just have to see TF4 and look for openings. That schedule statement though, is just a poor attempt at an excuse. I don't buy that. Write the story around characters we have not seen before, on both sides. Ultra Magnus? Rodimus Prime? Stalker? Beach Head? Gen Flagg? lots of characters out there yet.

There are a really genius words in life:
"If you don't want it - it won't happen" "Those who want it - will find the way...those who won't -the reasons"

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura states that there are practical limitations...
The biggest limitation is the lack of effort. You aren't even going to try? That being said, I didn't expect a crossover to happen anyway.

I'm not really a TF fan but I see no reason why it couldn't happen. They don't necessarily need the human characters/actors from the TF films. The only TF crossovers though I ever really enjoyed were Black Horizon and when Generation 2 was introduced in the Marvel run.

I call bullshit. Lorenzo goes out and makes a claim, and says, "Well..." A few months later. These are claims he should've realized then. He just doesn't want to make one.

The main limitation is if it didn't do as much $$ as a stand-alone Transformers film, so then they'd have to consider both franchises dead. To kill a cash-cow? That is a risk Hollywood won't take.
